Fascinating. So how would you categorize your strawman?
It was a statement of fact, cuck. It wasnt attached to or responding directly to chump.

It was sweet of the tball bench warmer to try to pinch hit for chump, though.

a bet on indifference is always a good one.
The safest bet is that NRA/BigGun will block any legislation, will target any legislator or elected judge that dares be anti-gun, and it's all for BigGun profits, not for "freedom" or "2nd Amendment"

No new gun regs, if ever passed, will make any difference that will reduce the American gun slaughter. (Gun) violence is what makes America America, domestically or overseas.

Whats wrong, Tball? Can't play with the big boys?

It was a really simple question.

You want to pray on it?

Pass laws that make them illegal. Tax the out of the manufacturers.

It isn't hard to come up with the solution to the problem, unless you are suffering from the delusiont hat guns are necessary to a democracy.

what about the ones legally purchased that are out there?

    Round and round.

    It was a bit unfair.

CC was merely stating the fact that we seem to have become indifferent to the slaughter of kids, not that he didn't give a . He almost certainly does care. He could have, at any time, simply said so, instead of being defensive/arrogant.

That is the way things go in such discussions.

Seems to me that the topic is a bit too important to treat so superficially.

OK Tball. I see an adult chimed in. So the answer is making them illegal and confiscating them. Got it.

    See, that wasnt so hard.

Let people keep them (i.e. grandfathered). Put in a standing buy offer, more than fair.

No new spare parts for them. Let time do the rest. Not something that most liberals would be willing to live with, but practical.

Respectfully, that horse is out of the barn. With up to 10 million out there they will never be hard for a whacko to get without confiscation.

Restrict new purchases. Buy back existing firearms at $10k per gun. Watch the numbers shrink significantly. Gather the data and draw conclusions.

And before "10 grand per gun. Thats going to be an outrageous outlay!"

Probably 3% of the bank/financial bailout.

FWIW I no longer own any ARs or AKs. Made a bunch of money with a buddy playing part time converting surplus parts into Class 3s pre '86 for 2000+ % profit but they never appealed to me personally. On long guns I prefer sub-moa rifles.

apparently, if you don't confiscate person A's gun away, you can't do anything to prevent person B from getting a gun

An important reason this works is that it drives up the value of the firearms left in the market and funnels them towards collectors instead of psychopaths.

Thats actually true if you were intellectually honest and not just arguing to be a . Used guns change hands all the time either willingly or through theft.

Used goods change hands more easily when the market is consistently replenished with those goods. Cut off the supply.

They arent going to confiscate millions of existing AR-15s no matter how much those kids skip school.

The "oh well it doesn't really matter to me any way" backdown.

With the subtle big time mixed in on cue.
