This is why London is loaded with extensive CCTV.

But we are rightly concerned about cameras everywhere.

It was on Spectrum news, the all day local news channel up here. They reported that the Austin fire Dept had a report of an explosion at a Goodwill facility. But now they are saying it's a false alarm...an incendiary device and not a bomb. So something may have just caught fire in the Goodwill.

    Everyone in Austin on edge...

I just looked at the Snowcams at CB today.
Place is awesome. Whoever bought your place is having a blast although they did not get a lot of snow this season.
I think the snow before X-mas and New year saved them. The snowmaking is also incredible, they needed it this year.
Apparently they always need it along with snow to open the season. Skiing is one of the reasons I try to stay in shape.
Along with kayak fishing. If you can handle it all day. 9 - 4pm for me on the mountain and take some granola bars and water.

You had the option of picking your times perfectly. That squeaky powder, I love it...

Well lets talk about kayak fishing instead. I bought my yaks in 98 before you ever saw one at the coast. I Did regular boat fishing on tournaments etc. But my go to was, yakking the skinny water. Was killin lighthouse lakes before they ever named it.

Personal best there was a 30" red on a fly and a 26" trout with conventional gear. Caught bigger in baffin in boats but the yak made it special.

I will even give you my honeyhole since ive moved to fresh water at the lake. Go to crab man on the causeway to port A. Go in the parking lot and turn right on the sand road. Count 10 telephone poles. Park and unload. (I was doing this in the dark) jump across the boat channel and there is a 30' cut that opens into an awesome lake there.

My first yak was an Ocean Kayak Drifter made for the West Coast. I was not far behind you in time, except I fished on the other side of the bridge, Brown and Root flats down the sailboat channel made for the old gas rig. But as I was in school I got limited to just summers and holidays. That drifter was perfect. I could stand in it 34" wide, and go in really shallow water. Cept I took my cast net and kept mullet alive in a 5 gallon bucket with an aerator. It fit perfectly in the well made for the scuba tanks. Cast at reds and watch them rise and slurp the mullet. So I cheated. Now, I got a good bait caster and a really good rod where I can feel everything. I twitched some Corkies "fat boys" in the cold this year for trout. But with the hurricane it messed up some of the places I stay.

Lake is all hard bottom and wadeable. Flushes with the tide so lots of bait. Hit it high tide.

Been there but preferred the mangroves. If you ever go south and want to man up to a big paddle hit bird island and do the kennedy shoreline north of there.

I have been out in the dark as well.
Its awesome. I have been all over that area.
Ive had dolphin pull trout off my stringer.

I found a great spot way back in LightHouse lakes where the airboats can't turn in but it's only a day spot. I crank the peddle drive down Lydia Ann go two openings past the light house. Turn in and go to those muddy back lakes full of oysters. Throw a 1/8 th or 1/16 ounce gold weed less spoon when the grass is thicker. Tremendous stuff. I could literally give you a screen shot on google earth. It's a lot of work but tremendous. Also catch trout in the morning.

Understood. I will look that up. The secret spots are getting very rare with the shallow running boats.

I have caught fish in just incredibly tough stuff. The airboats and thin running boats they have now really torn up a lot of good water that was wide open in probably the late 90s, early 2000s. They just try to scare up schools instead of poling them.

My friend wants to do exactly that. We both bought the Hobie peddle drives, Outback.

I also gigged flounder on lydia ann in the fall. Jump right across from the new designated lighthouse lakes turn out and hit the sand flats across the channel. Slammed some saddle blankets.
