Although he's a great writer, he's been so off with his assessments on the Spurs in recent years.

    Yep.

I for one want Danny back. With the Kawhi situation tenuous, our perimeter defence can't take another hit.

Media worried about the possibility of a Spurs' 6th championship I see. Good, good.

I like what he brings to the D. And I may be one of the few posters who has thought he was making big strides on his driving and handles over the last couple of seasons (this season, especially). But his 3-ball seems to be steadily deteriorating, not just dipping into periodic slumps. We really need some more reliable 3-ball shooters. I don't want to see Danny go, but I don't want to over-pay him, either. In balance, the team will probably be worse off without him than with him.

I hope he gets shipped to LA along with Kawhi so he can party with LeBron like he’s always wanted. What a joke!

I suspect that Lowe is wrong. There are not a lot of teams that will have the capspace to offer a $10 Million contract this year - maybe 6 or 7 - and obviously, Danny's not going to be at (or near) the top of the FA pile. He's going to have a hard time scaring up the money for it to be worth dropping the last year, IMO.

Who knows. There have been so many trade Danny rumors and he’s still kind of a whipping boy. But he truly loves the Spurs but maybe the ship will sail.

He’s earned Spur for life status as far as fans are concerned in my mind so if he decides to leave he gets nothing but love.

From Green's perspective: I'd imagine he'd want to stay on an elite or near elite team and the 76ers are the only one with significant cap space. If they miss on James, it would make more sense to retain Re , a superior shooter and/or sign Bradley or Caldwell-Pope, younger 3 and D types, who offer slightly more offensive versatility.

From the Spurs perspective: If they're seriously planning on going forward with a Mills-Murray, Parker-Forbes/White guard rotation, they've lost the plot even more than many of us thought. Not only would it still lack the dynamism it has since '14, but now defense/size too.

If they're planning on creating cap space to sign either Bradley or Caldwell-Pope as a replacement, I'd get it, but that would leave Mills-Parker as the backup back court going forward, while blocking White from a path to the rotation and at least two of those things seem unlikely.

Green's NBA career was supposed to be severed back in 2015, tbh.

35.9 3P% over his last 3 seasons.... Declining defense....

He's living off straight reputation at this point. What Tobias Harris did to him followed by Lou Williams' 4Q explosion will hopefully open PATFO's eyes that this lazy got is aging like milk. All the apple juice during Teen Nights at the club are finally catching up to him. He's now being gameplanned to be attacked like he's some rag and sadly it's working. ROC NATION better not opt out of that $10M player option because they'll be shocked when they see the market for 31 year old "no 3 & no D" players

Casuals ( announcers included ) still think that he's a good defender

His defense declined so much that he's losing his man half of the time

Then he gets a recovery block and people say " such a great defender "

Don't know if that article is legit but in my oppinion it's time to move on from Danny. Thank him for his play that helped us win 5 and get a more rounded SG who can pass and bounce the ball properly.

They are well-aware of his declining defense and considered him a trade piece for any deals they would have put together..I don't think he'll be a Spur next year. Some team will most likely pay him more than $10 Mill next season. I think he opts out.
