A Short History of Congressman Steve King Saying Racist
Full tour here:
Iowa Republican congressman Steve King, one of the most right-wing members of the House of Representatives, launched a viral tweet over the weekend when he endorsed far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders—who once said "I hate Islam" and compared the Qur'an to Mein Kampf. King's endorsement of Wilders came in the form of a retweet of a pro-Wilders cartoon, to which King added, well:
Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can't restore our civilization with somebody else's babies
Most people interpreted, not wrongly, "our civilization" to mean "white European civilization" and "somebody else's babies" to mean "the children of Muslim migrants." There was an outcry against him, but King didn't back down; discussing the backlash on CNN Monday morning, the congressman said, "I meant exactly what I said."
While some pundits were quick to identify King's comments over the weekend as "the most blatantly racist statement from a member of Congress in 50 years," it's more accurate to label them as "the most blatantly racist statement from a member of Congress" since July, when King said nonwhite "sub-groups" have contributed less to society than their white counterparts.
To put King's tweet in context, let's take a tour through the long history of the Republican congressman's most controversial, aggro, and outright racist moments. Throughout this sprawling epic, keep in mind that Donald Trump once called King "a special guy, a smart person with really the right views on almost everything."

Why this need to play silly ass games? Everyone knows how different we all are, so why act like that isn't reality?
I don't want some Mexican working on my computer if I can get an Asian to do it. If I need some fruit picked quickly, yep...Mexicans. I need a RB and a speedy wide receiver...black. I need a country and western band.....white.
Who do we see roaming around Walmart with four/ five kids and pregnant? With one of those kids old enought to baby sit the others. Who is this?
It's being a racist to know those differences?
yes the Koran is choked full of....PUNISH..,PUNISH...CHOP...FIRE...KILL....we all know this. And we get why Muslims are so damn violent, it's what they are suppose to be.
all i know is whatever hodgepodge of DNA you are shouldn't be allowed to post 'arguments'.
Show me where I was wrong.
see what i mean?
Not really.
Race doesn't determine these things, even if cultural difference support the stereotypes.
Race should only be used against you if you're white.
you're probably not genetically equipped to understand anyway.
I hope you're being sarcastic.
Couldn't be more wrong if ya tried.
Dude, you're boring as , ok?
aarony summarized RG pretty concisely before... "republicans are poopyheads and i dont like them"
Steve King is objectively racist, though.
yeah, he doesn't exactly hide it. made some nutty comments at the 2016 convention too
Cantaloupe calves King
Grow up son, ok?

What is it about the Republican party, and its policies that attracts Nazis?
The term "Nazi" is being misused so often these days. A skinhead with a flag != Nazi.
1st, they are likely not German. To be Nazi you'd need to be part of the socialist workers party of Germany or some such . It's like me shaving my head and carrying a Japanese flag and people calling me a Kamikaze.
neoNazi, Euro-white male (maybe Christian) supremacists.
non-Euro-white, non-male, non-Christian are the targets, just as Hilter did.
neoNazi's with prcisely paleoNazi policies, ideology, violence.
Look at the mess that is Mexico, then look at China. Look at anywhere we see a large number of blacks, like Haiti, Nigeria, inner cities, what do we see? Then look at Wyoming, Montana, Idaho.
Why pretend?
It is often misused. In this case, not so much. Read up on the guy.
