Why do people think that a pick between 28-30 would have moved the needle? If you were paying attention, there were teams they had clearly blacklisted: Boston and Cleveland, because EC powers. Indy has been hearing for SIX YEARS how we snookered them on the Kawhi deal. They were taking no chances on him resigning here. Their goal was twofold: not to trade him to LA with Bird Rights, and not to trade him to a contender where he might re-sign with the Bird Exception. They were out to PG for ing them with the leak. He'll sign with LA for a lot less than he could have gotten from any team with Bird Rights, and it will cost him.

damn, there goes the season![]()
Murray-Simmons-Leonard-Gay-Aldridge
I accept this as quality analysis. Though, I do think the Spurs would've been contenders for PG if they had presented a better offer than OKC. Bird still has to step back and objectively do what is best for his team in theory.
Bird no longer runs things in Indy but I don't believe Indy would have turned down a good deal because they were intent on revenge on PG. PG leak wasn't anything new. Everybody knew his days in Indy were numbered and that may have been part of the reason Bird stepped down is he saw that coming.
Sorry to hear that; but thanks for the 411.
My called it
Has there ever been a poster as consistently right as hater tbh?
Kawhi and Gay would’ve been a great tag team. Unfortunately, Kawhi went straight off the deep end.
agreed with you on this too.
Unfortunately Kiwi has had whatever it is that is going on with him.
Ma niga
I know it would have been amazing
Too bad Kawhihawkings got castrated in the offseason
How about Pop starts to consistently let Rudy freaking close games???? I've been wanting Rudy to close games for a while now.
How about Pop also doesn't play Bryn Forbes at all?
So, he was right to make this clear diss thread for Aldridge?![]()
at this terrible take
“Paddy’s my closer. Because he has close up pics of my privates.”
Forbes not playing is pretty much agreed upon at this point, considering the better options all over the roster.
As far as Gay not closing, though, I think it has a lot to do with how inconsistent he is on defense. He came up big a few times recently, but he's been a straight sieve on that end too. Also, while he has a great killer instinct, Gay is not a consistently dominant scorer. He takes poor shots and isn't great at hitting those. As a final-play thing, it's fine. But down the stretch, it's more iffy. I still think he should be out there more often than not. But I also think it depends on what kind of day he's having.
Those Gay isos are getting cringe-worthy. Stare at the shot clock, take a few dribbles, launch a long 2?
I don't think his game fits well with Kawhi, though Gay playing off the ball and trying to score via cuts and sealing smaller defenders is better for the team if Kawhi ever manages to return.
Harden switched on him every time down the stretch and Gay made him pay. Great strategy. Helps when Mills was hitting, which made the Rockets unable to double.
Exactly. Gay isoing from the triple-threat spot really isn't that great. I do like him posting up in the LMA role, though. That's one of the reasons why I'm not so desperate for him to close. Gay's biggest value is letting the team keep the same offense all 48 minutes. He also seems like a decent catch-and-shoot guy and can obviously finish pretty well. Had Kawhi been healthy, I think Gay's whole role would look different, similar to how LMA played differently before this season. Either that or Pop would tell him to just do whatever he wanted with the second unit and just keep him separate from the starting unit.
I like that Allen kid from Duke.
I guess we'll never see that Gay/Kawhi tag team action.
We saw Kawhi form a gay tag team with his uncle.
I decided to check out Kawhi's sister's instagram fan page, and a poster there claims the whole last year Kawhi played with this injury.
