Doesn't matter because he's pissed....and because R.
LOL at you making all these assumptions based on a picture. How many qualified black people applied to be an intern? Do you think it's a significantly higher % than the % of black republicans?
Doesn't matter because he's pissed....and because R.
Lol yeah honestly I'd have to think the number of blacks wanting to work in this white house would be lower than the previous administration. I don't know why
There's definitely a chicken/egg dynamic here that allows people on both sides to see a photo like this as representative of a problem with the other side.
Dems: "See? Conservative outreach to minorities is poor."
Reps: "See? Minorities aren't giving us a chance because of liberal iden y politics."
I don't think it's a very effective tool for argument. But it is sad.
... mainly because these poor kids have a historic opportunity to intern at the White House and unfortunately it's under the most idiotic POTUS in history.
“2/90 = 14%”
Never said such![]()
1 - Gets called out for saying 2/90 = 14%
2 - Actually doubles down and says 1/90 = 7%
lol "called out"
lol @ double down
lol racist AF
Are you an idiot or are you incapable of seeing anything outside of clusters? There are other non white people in that picture.
Also the idiocy of virtue signaling for diversity while throwing racial insults like "white Chris". You are making yourself look like a complete idiot.
Seeking equality of outcome is a unobtainable goal.
If you are expecting an equal representation based on the population in your political party then the only possible way to achieve that is to punish more qualified people. That's just a fact.
Last but not least we shouldn't forget the divisive propaganda that the left pumps out that would lower the numbers of qualified applicants from seeking a position.
This kind of talk implies people's qualifications for schools/jobs are not largely subjective and that people can simply be ranked in order of qualification, which makes me wonder if you've ever been in charge of, or even involved in, hiring anyone.
The goal is to make the best decision based on merit.
Also that talk is just a reality. You won't possibly get the percentages of the population if the standard of entry is a college degree. Black people just don't graduate at the same rate. If you go further and look at grades you'll get even less. That's just the reality of the situation.
Equality of outcome is impossible if you have high standards.
The Left subscribes to the idea of "white privilege" hence the white Chris nonsense. Again this is that imaginary enemies thingy. They indoctrinate the youth with this concept at an early age and through college because they know it is absurd and that any rational logical adult would reject it. The idea that minorities should be equally represented or even over represented is a derivative of this concept. The concept became legislation with Affirmative Action and has mutated into an insatiable monster that can never be satisfied.
Jesus christ Chris. You are really so stupid you don't think white privilege exist? That is gem number three for the night.
As a white male born to a upper/middle class family I can promise you white privilege is real. Honestly anyone that can't see that simply doesn't want to see it and honestly probably doesn't hang out with many people of color.
Yep, it's a sad, toxic, and divisive perspective. Everybody wants more representation of the population. I mean most people do. Therefore, you'll get some bending on the standards. You still won't get alignment or even close to alignment with the population unless you actively go out of your way to punish more qualified people.
Sadly they fail to realize that Asians and Indians do quite well in America despite being 'under represented.'
How did Asians and Indians arrive in America. Specifically which Asians and Indians came here?
Now on the flip side, how did most African Americans arrive in America.
You are so stupid though that this may be a futile effort. They didn't teach basic math in your school, so I doubt your American history was very good either.
white privilege isn't some active force that keeps down minorities in every step of their lives.
more generally, it speaks to the fact that minorities tend to have additional obstacles and hurdles that white people simply dont have to account for. we've already seen experiments, for example, where identical job applications are submitted with different names, and the minority-named applicants get significantly less responses. white people in new york didnt really have to worry about stop and frisk when that was going on. white people are less likely to be profiled by law enforcement.
similar with sex. a guy walking to his car at night doesn't have to constantly scan his field of vision for potential threats... at least not nearly to the degree women have to. men sitting on subways or buses dont need to worry about creeps nearly as often.
these are just little things that can add up over a lifetime. but it's much less effective when you can look at individual cir stances, and say "oh that guy only succeeded because of white privilege." its more apparent on a grander scale, when you're able to look at statistics, rather than the micro scale
though if we're gonna look at a specific case a black/hispanic guy who underage drunk drove and killed people probably wouldn't have gotten away with an "affluenza" defense imho
The objective is not always to put together a team of the most qualified (X) number of applicants. Good hiring managers make a point to pull from a diverse set of backgrounds, and racial/ethnic/gender diversity is a part of that. You're building a team, not rewarding people based on merit or even going after some kind of quota. The best companies in the world have highly diverse talent pools. Proctor & Gamble doesn't hire token blacks to put in charge of multimillion dollar brands. These are highly qualified, very smart people.
It's the same way a basketball team tries to build a roster with complimentary skillsets. If qualifications were not subjective, there'd be no point in having a draft because you'd just rank every player and divvy up to the teams as ranked.
I've already said I don't think the intern photo tells the whole story, but if I was in charge of a Republican White House intern group? I'd definitely make a point to pull a larger number of minorities. Not for show or for a photo op, or for a quota, but because it would be very valuable for that group of interns to work with people from backgrounds more diverse than which state they're from or which Ivy League school their parents met at.
