When dis his "teammates" say exactly what you just said? You idiots keep making up narratives... Worse than ESPN
Cool. Even his teammates said they backed him on not playing if he’s not healthy. What they don’t back him on is being so distant and not doing anything a leader should do to help out in other ways by being more present and engaged as they are battling and playing not 100% themselves on top of having to face the media every damn day while you duck those responsibilities.
When dis his "teammates" say exactly what you just said? You idiots keep making up narratives... Worse than ESPN
You either haven’t listened or read the transcripts or you are being obtuse.
SHOW ME! I've read everything and I can confidently say that MAYBE One person KINDA said Kawhi needs to communicate better and that was Manu... And what he said was he wanted to hear it from Kawhi himself, and not the media... NOWHERE else did ANY other teammates say ANYTHING close to that... And the only reason the meeting was called was because of Tony Parker and Manu... Who are concerned because their window is closing and they wanted to put pressure on Kawhi to play
I don't doubt tension between Kawhi-Spurs, but ESPN and the rest of the media are really trying to take down the Spurs the way the attempted to take down the Pats.
The thing that is bothering me the most right now is those interviews with Cris Carter. It seems like he thinks he's in a group that's calling the shots with/for Kawhi, and I just don't like what he's implying. The other guy (sorry I don't know his name as I don't watch that show) asked him close to a week ago if he thought Kawhi would come back this season and Carter said "no." Then in the latest video he just couldn't hide his smugness and let slip at the end of the video that "we" have a big announcement coming, but they can't say until the end of the season.
If Kawhi has no intention of playing due to some other issue and not the injury itself, then he needs to announce it now and stop screwing the team and fans around with a false sense of hope. If Cris Carter is full of and Kawhi really is still trying to play, then maybe he should say something in that case too (I hope that this is the real case). His teammates had to ask a week or so ago, and if they had to do that, then it means he pretty much had not been around to communicate with a lot of them. Maybe he talked to some of them like Danny Green via text, but it seems like a bunch of them didn't have a clue what is going on with him. I don't see the point of leaving everyone in the dark and twisting in the wind. You're supposed to be the leader of the team - an MVP level player. You don't get to hide and sneak out the back door when you're at that level. He has to man up to his responsibilities even if he doesn't want to or like doing it. That's what being a leader is all about. You can't just disconnect, disappear and vanish.
What makes you think "a bunch" of other players don't communicate with Kawhi? No one has ever said that except ST
We have on information to go off of, so we just have to guess as to what is going on.
What do you think of the Cris Carter talk show interview/s? Do you think he really knows what's going on? Do you think he really is part of Kawhi's group, and if so, do you think they are stringing the Spurs along at this point?
Nate Robinson said Kawhi wants out for some sponsorship deal....
Then what’s the point of player meeting if everyone has been in communication?
Do you know stuffs we and most people don’t know ?
If that’s true that’s some dumb . The difference between his Jordan deal and this other shoe deal couldn’t make up the difference between a max and super max contract. Jordan didn’t get sponsors cuz he played in Chicago. He got Sponsors cuz he won a lot. I think Kawhi is hurt and that’s it. I can’t accept Kawhi doing to Pop what Deron Williams did to Jerry Sloan.
Those two things are certainly not mutually exclusive.
If Tony Parker calls a team meeting... The most senior spurs player... U think everyone else is gonna say "no"?
Ok, but you're not answering the question, which is for what reason the players met.
THEY MET BECAUSE PARKER CALLED THE MEETING!!! I JUST gave you the reason TWICE! u just choose to ignore it!
Were you a fan of the Spurs before Tim Duncan?
Why would I be? I have no connection to SA... I'm from the same island as Tim Duncan... So obviously I became a fan when Duncan got drafted
Well just confirming what I thought basically you are a player fan. Now that Duncan is retired you have become a Kawhi player fan.
You realize that those kinds of shoe deals are for life, right? Usually that or some huge payout at some point.
It is within the realm of possibility that Kawhi is betting on himself here. So you lose that max deal temporarily. That's fine as long as he can collect his money here, play well somewhere else on a big deal, then accept the super max later on all while still making his massive shoe deal money -which could open the door to more sponserships - over the course of his lifetime.
This isn't to say that he doesn't want to be here, or that he'll be moved. But if one is to believe he will follow the money, then it should be considered that San Antonio is probably not the place he can make the most money over the course of his life.
Jordan and a bigger market has to be better than that HEB "make me look like a re on TV" money.

Perhaps they were curious about what Kawhi was up to and how his plans might affect their team this year.
And you're not understanding what we said. The fact that TP called the meeting is a thing, but the most important thing is the subject of the meeting.
when will this ing end? could you imagine being in this same situation next season? wtf is going on ...
You’re missing the point...it’s why they called the meeting.
Gregg should fire kl
