0-6 shooting, 3 turnovers to just 3 assists and terrible defense.
Manure needs to be deported as well as all of his Uruguayan fans

Kawhi was probably watching that game and praying that the Logo trades for him.

Spurs had this game but squandered an 18 points lead. That’s Spurs problem all year, unable to close in the 4th. How many times Spurs had the lead and lost? And this to secure home court and send the Clips fishing. Geez

This loss was about POP being stubborn. He is so loyal to Parker and Manu. The end results is that you live by the sword, die by the sword. Win some-lose some. Parker and Manu stunk it up tonight, but sometimes their veteran leadership saves the Spurs. Or they play well after a day of rest. The Clippers game was not one of those games. Manu played too much and should not have been in the 4th quarter at all. Pop chose to sit Dejounte Murray, as if he is on some minutes restriction and go with the old, scoreless Manu. This was the result-a loss. Manu could not score, pass or even defend. Sure, Dejounte may not score, but his defense is great, he makes up his lack of scoring with rebounding and hustle. The refusal to stay with a hot hand in Byrn Forbes was foolish. His best game in two months and the 4th qtr bench was the reward.

i'm not sure if this was Pop playing what would be his playoff rotation. if it is, the spurs are definitely a one and done.

Don’t blame it on Manu put blame on Pop for being a ty game coach. They over play there old vets cause they now have a ty bench so they have to play guys like Manu way to much. I would guarantee if White had played we would have won this game and that’s on Pop head.

Pop has never been a feel for game coach. He has a plan and rides it until the end
True and truly sad. Perhaps (if I had been less emotional when I posted) I should have said he has lost whatever feel he ever had for the game - definitely little, if any. What I really wonder about is the dynamic of the coaching staff. Does anybody have a different feel for the game and the temerity to make in-game recommendations that differ from Pop's inclinations? Or are they all just Pop's sycophants?

Inclined to think they are yes men... Messina in the chances he’s had to coach has been ok for the most part... but very much like Pop IMO... except that I get the sense unlike Pop Messina is more traditional. Whereas Pop likes to experiment and throw weird lineups, some that I would criticize, I have also admired the fact that it is how Pop develops young players within a veteran team through the season and it’s worked out since they have never tanked and he has developed many young players the same way, even if they aren’t with the team anymore and have moved on.

Messina strikes me as a traditional Thibs style coach. He will play his best guys most of the minutes no matter how they fare and will experiment little or not at all. So in being a lot more strict than Pop, he doesn’t strike me as a guy that would enlighten Pop that much with in game adjustments. Messina would also ride Manu until the end for example even if it wasn’t his game. The only point I am unclear on is what Messina thinks of Rudy.

The other coaches I truly don’t know much in terms if NBA coaching. Think Borrego coached in Orlando and wasn’t anything to talk about there. I think Udoka is a Pop’s yes man. I tend to think Becky is the most innovative but she’s also the one with the least seniority. I do believe she would be different than Pop. I’d like to think she wouldn’t have left White in the gleague abd would be more proactive with youth over the culture guys, specially if the culture guys aren’t having good games, and I tend to think she would coach like her job is on the line more often. Until we see her coach though she might be overrated, though I do believe in her potential as a head coach.

I hated her hire at first but to her credit she has done an excellent job of coaching summer league games.

Overrated? Not at all. She has a very good feel for the game. Poop, on the other hand, simply throws on the wall and see what sticks.

you know thinking back on this game I remember like 4 fast break opportunities in which we got zero points with Dijon and Peppermint Patty, I mean like 3 on one breaks. That probably cost us this game. That plus Lou Will went Nova on us.

True that happened in the Rockettes game too but the Rockettes weren't hungry to win that game so it didn't matter.

Also patty eyeing off Lamarcus to take the final shot over Denadre after pnr switch where LA had Austin on him. All this directly in front of pop who stood calmly watching it unfold.

If i didn't know any better , you'd think pop wasnt fussed about winning, more about learning. As in Patty isnt a closer

Yup that was absolutely baffling to me. I thought Mills doubted his own ability to make that pass without it ending in a TO.

But the again Pop let Dijon take an off the dribble 3 in the Milwaukee game without calling a timeout to get a better shot. Part of the meltdowns is Pop.

Think youre right. Pattys shortness & lack of passing ability had something to do with it but still... there was pop leaning against a table, cool, calm & collected.
