no. that just means the right is fully willing to commit the slippery slope fallacy at all times.
justifying the right's paranoia with baseless claims about what the left is "dying" to do (according to you)
By the way, the right is fully aware of this slippery slope that the left has been dying to get started down, which is why even seemingly benign gun laws don't make it though.

dismissing it when you cannot even ban bump stocks

Preventing Gun Violence
With 33,000 Americans dying every year, Democrats believe that we must finally take sensible action to address gun violence. While responsible gun ownership is part of the fabric of many communities, too many families in America have suffered from gun violence. We can respect the rights of responsible gun owners while keeping our communities safe. To build on the success of the lifesaving Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, we will expand and strengthen background checks and close dangerous loopholes in our current laws; repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) to revoke the dangerous legal immunity protections gun makers and sellers now enjoy; and keep weapons of war—such as assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines (LCAM's)—off our streets. We will fight back against attempts to make it harder for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to revoke federal licenses from law breaking gun dealers, and ensure guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists, intimate partner abusers, other violent criminals, and those with severe mental health issues. There is insufficient research on effective gun prevention policies, which is why the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must have the resources it needs to study gun violence as a public health issue.
but it doesn't say "ban".
"Off our streets" means "banned". No one is putting guns on the actual street. It's another left euphemism to avoid saying "from the American citizen".
So what do the feds classify as an assault weapon?
Drawing from federal and state law definitions, the term assault weapon refers primarily to semi-automatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns that are able to accept detachable magazines and possess one or more other features.[2][9][10] Some jurisdictions define revolving cylinder shotguns as assault weapons.[11][12] Legislative definitions do not include fully automatic weapons, which are regulated separately as le II weapons under federal law.[13][n 1] A key defining law was the now-defunct Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.[13] At that time, the United States Department of Justice said, "In general, assault weapons are semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use."[3]
So the term "assault weapon" is a slippery slope term coined basically by the media who misunderstood the differences between an assault rifle and a semi-automatic rifle that looks like an assault rifle. Now that mischaracterization is being used to create the slippery slope that would encompass all the above listed items.
when in doubt, start creating false narratives
now DMC thinks an assault weapon ban is a ban of all guns
That's your modus operandi along with conflation. Habitual fence sitter.
You're free to point out the flaw in my presentation. You've wasted two posts and haven't touched it yet.
Since you're a lawyer, surely you recognize that legal definitions mean something where new laws are concerned.
Not all guns. You could still own a musket.
Provides a high ground for sniping.
I didn't read DMC's posts. I'm going to conclude he didn't have an actual take on the OP.
What’s your take on the shape of the earth and the Apollo moon landing of 1969?
i predict you’ll sit on the fence
Case in point. You're so predictable.
here's me not sitting on a fence:
the earth is spherical (not a perfect sphere, but close to it. definitely not flat. no snow-globe earth with an impenetrable dome)
we landed on the moon in 1969
i'll let you enjoy your seat on the fence
