being a Bernie supporter (boutons' style, more or less) to a Trump supporter (with all the far right narrative included, Spurtacular*) in the span of a year, maybe not even a year, tbh?

I understand guys like boutons or Spurtacular, even though I don't necessarily share all their views, tbh, they clearly not only believe in what they say, but have spent some time living in their bubbles. Likely raised in families with similar leanings, etc.

Then you have the typical loons, like Cosmoron, but those normally do stand out from the crowd pretty easily, tbh, and are all over the map. Centrists are pretty easy to tell apart too, normally (ie: economic conservatives, but social liberals, etc, not really toting the party line/talking points, but generally more open to substantive discussion).

Just puzzling to me how an individual can move their political affinity from far left to far right (or the other way around) in less than a year, tbh, considering the rich history and fundamental differing philosophical and policy positions on either end.

Normally, IMO, it's a process that can take many years, through thoughtful introspection, education, experiences, etc. Never seen anything like it, unless the person doesn't really care about politics and just want to be a 'fan' for the winning 'team' with the usual superficial takes on the subject.

    Intrigued, tbh...

*Didn't include Chris or TSA as your typical conservative, tbh, because in all likelihood they're just Russian bots. TSA was human at some point, but probably murdered with Seth Rich, IMO.

People in their 20s tend to be Democrats.

People in their 30s and up tend to lean Republican.

Trump was a catalyst that affected all age groups and demographics. That's why the establishment Right/Left neo-cons/liberals are terrified of him.

Still pulling out the weeds within the Deep State, but Trump has been incredibly effective considering the amount of backlash he's received from the aforementioned en ies and Media/Hollywood.

I think the real tell will be when the mid-terms come and the predicted blue wave will be non-existent.

Reads like a bot response. Not relevant at all to the OP, betrays a fanboy obsession with Trump.

I don't think those age numbers really apply anymore, tbh... probably did with boomers, but not anymore...

More of a cosmopolitan, non-cosmopolitan split these days, IMO, at least looking at the latest national election trends...

Trump is a clown and has so far been very ineffectual, tbh (except on Twitter, I guess), but I understand the appeal when you have Shillary on the other side. I don't think he'll have more than one term, IMO, but that's largely dependent on who the Dems line up... if it's Shillary again, he has a chance and the Dems might awsell implode and start over.

At any rate, I don't think that's related to my question on the OP. Trump is unlikely to change anything when it comes to political status quo, and that was a fairly safe bet even before the election.

I just don't understand the thought 'evolution' from far left to far right in a short period of time, unless you're very superficial when it comes to politics in general... that said, if you buy the 'outsider' meme, it might be just it, tbh...

They only applied to Boomers of the past generations in the last two centuries. It's wishcasting from GOPo s. If anything the current GOP leader is cementing the reality given his historic unpopularity.

Yep. Shillary was a terrible candidate, tbh...

Not that it would sway a, say, boutons, but sure...

I didn't vote for either candidate after Bernie got cheated tbh. Some people did vote for Trump because of that. Justifiable imho.

Who is OP talking about? These people don't exist, or are extremely rare. I have a feeling you're conflating people who are inactive politically except during Pres election years with those that have strongly held beliefs.

The actual person doesn't matter, because that's not the point. I just saw an occurrence and I was curious about the thought process behind it.

Like wouldn't you be surprised if RG shows up tomorrow and claims "I'm convinced, the Laffer curve is the real deal"?

And Yoni is a guy that I would put obviously deep rooted on team red, tbh, even though he's not active generally, only mostly during presidential elections.

Do you think Kawhi will have his jersey retired in SA even if he never plays another minute there? He's already done more than Bowen.

No. He would've had to kick Raymond in the mouth at least to receive such honor. Not seeing it.

Still get a kick out of how some people swallowed the Repug Rights fabrication of "Bernies a Socialist"

Newsflash, add up all the taxes we pay combined. USA already is a farking Socialist Taxed % state. We just don't get the bennies that Sweeden and Norway do.

I like to think of myself as a left leaning centrist. I get for not supporting Bernie at all and voting for Hillary because she was the better of the two stains we had for candidates.

Bernie's wild and unrealistic ideas for the government never appealed to me. I think He would have made a great president in the 70s. He came to the scene way too late. Muh free college.

I would have probably voted for Kasich if he won the nom.
