As much ing and whining we get around here from the TMZ crew, this has been truly a great season.

Spurs go for 48 and a reason to play hard with a higher seeding might mean a potential chance to get out of the first round. Will be a very tough matchup as best player on the floor is surely AD. However, if LMA can play him pretty much a wash, and Gay/Manu bring it again Spurs capable of a big road win. Kind of surreal that the Spurs, missing their weirdly injured (?) superstar, are even here. Somehow they have proven to be very resilient, and now have a 82nd game that means something in a very tough WC. However, I am just afraid Pop might tank the game somehow now that the Spurs are in playoffs..... If not Spurs by 3.

I’ll be there. Should be a good one. The team that loses will likely have to face the Rockets or Warriors in the first round, while the winner has a good chance of winning a playoff series. This one is huge.
No way Pop tanks this game.
We have had some good success against these guys, just have trouble closing the deal. I'm hoping everyone is dialed in, LMA continues to have his way with AD and we pull away a victory. I'm gonna say Spurs by 9
Tanking this game would be stupid. Losing it means a first-round date with the Rockets or Warriors, while winning gets you a chance at HCA in round 1. The stakes are very high.
On the road with home court advantage on the line, I like our chances. One thing this team has proved over and over again this year, is winning big games on the road.
So we're starting off against the Rockets in the first round... meh.
Poop on the road. Guy can't help but himself each time. Wonder how he'll top his 4th quarter meltdowns this time.
Well, no way he intentionally tanks this game.
Who needs to win or lose in the West games to keep OKC at 7?
im having dejavu...
Even he wouldn't have the gall to sit one of the rotation players entirely, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a quick pull of the plug. Even though this team is long overdue for a road win and some luck in that building and the Pelicans are due for some regression, I'd be surprised if they legitimately hung in the game throughout and downright shocked if they won it.
Think the vets that have "it" right now blew their load recently to get them into the playoffs and need a bunch of days off just to be able to summon a respectable showing in them.
I think this is right. If it's not close, I suspect Pop will wave the white flag early and get LMA, Manu, Pau and Rudy out of there.
I'd love to play the dubs first round. Don't know why everyone's scared. Would rather lose in the 1st than the 2nd or 3rd
Big game for sure. My heart says the Pels will blow them out but I know it could go either way. If Mirotic plays the way he has the last 4 games, Pels will be in good shape.
Will Spurs be 4th, if Spurs beat Pels and Jazz lose out their final two?
You mean deja- ing-vu . . .
So OKC is obviously going to beat Memphis at home to close the season, which means the Spurs are the #7 seed and start the playoffs in Golden State unless freezes over and they win a road game. At least they'll avoid Houston since the Spurs own the tiebreaker over both Minnesota and Denver.
i dont think we own the tiebreaker over Denver. I actually think that would kick Minny out and we'd be 8th
That's correct. If Denver wins they will automatically be the 7th seed and the Pels/Spurs loser will be the 8th seed assuming OKC beats Memphis.
Holiday going for 35+ imo
It's not that easy if it's a multi-team tiebreaker... then all the heads to heads are calculated together, and I think we would tie with Minnie and they'll get the upper seed by virtue of conference record.
Denver and Minnesota play each other on the final game of the season with a currently tied record, so they can't finish tied. OKC isn't going to lose at home to Memphis with so much on the line for seeding. The only way there is likely to be a three way tie is if Utah loses their remaining two games and the Spurs lose to New Orleans, in which case it would be a tie between Utah/SA/winner of Minny vs Denver.
Utah is also up big on GSW right now in the first, and GSW is pretty much sleepwalking through the end of the season.
