Yep..The whole Rehab residency in NY thing is starting to look like bull excuse. Fully expect his camp to come with the trade request once they are done in this series.
That message of having a Leonard-less focus was reiterated by several players pregame, with some acknowledging the bizarre nature of it all and others highlighting the fact that Leonard has maintained communication with some players (he text-messaged with at least one Spurs player on Saturday morning, for example). Leonard hasn't spoken publicly much, but he downplayed the severity of the situation in early March and swore that he stills wants to finish his career with the Spurs.

At the VERY LEAST he owes the Spurs fans an explanation for why he's still not playing (cleared over 2 months ago by Spurs doctors) and why he's not with the team (He's in New York, as far away as possible). And then there's all the media reports of him being unhappy with the organization, Pop, and wanting out of San Antonio (none of which he has denied).
There's being shy, then there's being flat-out arrogant. He can issue a statement through a spokesperson just as easily as he can deliver one himself. The Spurs paid him 20 million this year to play limited minutes in 9 out of 82 games. And they're going to have to pay him a SUPER max contract and put the future of the franchise in his hands if they want to keep him. The way he's handled this situation is unacceptable. It's Derrick Rose with the Bulls but worse -- atleast he was with the team, had a much more serious injury, and communicated to the media what was going on with the status of his injury/mental state. Kawhi's camp has got to come out with a statement soon -- or else endure non-stop bad press from the media and Spurs fans for his handling of all this.
Ugh. It will be sad if Kawhi isn’t on the bench for a game this series. I hope he would at least be present for an elimination game. I’m a big Kawhi fan, but when your teammates are getting their asses handed to them please come to the game and cheer them on.

The Kawhi defenders aren’t listening to reason. They’re purposely twisting story lines:
“If you’re upset Kawhi isn’t playing, then you love Pop and every move PATFO has made.”
“If you think Kawhi should be on the bench, then you believe hes not hurt.”

All the blacks defending Kawhi sounds like all the white folks speaking out against kneeling during the anthem. Only the blacks sound worse cuz this dude is getting paid 19mil to do his job. Not playing isn't the problem for me though. Not sitting his punkass on the bench an supporting his team is my issue. Idc what's the issue, you support your team. I don't know if you knew about the scandal the american swimmer Ryan Lochte was involved in within a few years ago during the Olympics. In case you didn't know what happened I will give you a brief summary. Ryan lied about being held at gun point in a taxi late at night in Brazil and reported that he was robbed of money. A day or two later it came out that Ryan actually lied and that he had vandalized a bathroom at a gas station and had gotten in trouble for it . He wasn't robbed but ended up paying the authorities money for the damage he did to the bathroom. The way Ryan got caught for lying was a security surveillance tape was released from the gas station which proved he lied.
Anyways Ryan made a fool of himself but I will never forget seeing a white reporter in Billy Bush trying to defend his inexcusable actions by saying he didn't really lie. He got into an argument with Al Roker about it. Go watch the clip down below and see how Billy defends Ryan simply because he's racially biased towards favoring Ryan. It reminds me a lot of how these black analysts in Jalen Rose, Cris Carter,Shannon Sharpe are racially biased in defending Kawhi.

There is some truth to that, if he's doing what he is likely doing...in the gym trying to get better. This whole ordeal is very strange, but it's hard to believe he doesn't want to be out there playing.
