Wrong as usual, what about I own...rap/hip hop....didn't you get? It takes the least amount of talent than all the genre.
Then you should be able to cite some good modern hip hop for me.

Predictable dodge number to, ramble, list spam, and video spam coming up

Vocally, there is nothing special about rap. Just talking to the rhythm of a beat really. I don't with either genre but a yodeler is easily more talented than a rapper, imo.

Kodak Black, Lil Skies, Mistah F.A.B.....and a thousand more.

Thing is their music is so weak, it does nothing for anyone who really knows music.

If I'm standing in the middle of my Fortress of Solitude trying to figure out (a legit problem) what to listen to....

    Straight ahead.

    Country
    Rockabilly
    Appalachian

    left

    oldies
    soul
    funk
    R&B

    right

    Rock and roll

    back

    jazz
    blues

    above

    reggae
    rap
    hip hop
    alternative
miscellaneous....African tribal, Indian Chants etc, classical
    Movie sound tracks

Then there are all those books.

It is funny talking with little s that actually think rap. hip hop is good.

I have a pretty wide range of musical taste, everything from Different variations of rock, country, rap, etc.

With that said rap/hip hop is probably my favorite genre, the Rappers you mentioned are not that good. If you really knew rap and were in the know that list would have looked very different. You don't need to pretend to know what you are talking about old man, its fine. I don't expect an old, white, obese, pedo to understand much about modern hip hop/rap. Now go back to listening to your music and just please please stop pretending you know about you dont.

    sheesh....rookie

rapping is more akin to poetry. lyrics and word play are substantially more important. but it doesn't really demand outstanding vocal performance in most cases tbh

I don't completely disagree with that. The stamina and flow it takes are still pretty impressive. As far as having a good singing voice, no it does not require that. Its more about making sure your voice flows well with the beat and being lyrically engaging.

Sadly alot of peoples perception of hip hop is hacks like Lil Wayne.

well yea. most rappers aren't screaming(rock and metal) or putting as much stress on their vocal cords(traditional singers).

ehhh, he was better than later Wayne. Still nothing phenomenal, don't get me wrong, his beats were great and his flow was pretty nice. He doesn't really impress me lyrically though. A lot of his stuff is just put together to finish punch lines even though it doesnt make sense. Great party music, but not something I would ever just sit down and listen to though tbh.
