Opting out doesn't make sense. He can get his 10 millions next season and then go for the next contact the following year. I doubt he would get much better offers this upcoming offseason than the following one. At least not to leave 10 millions on the table.

If DG had a good series, the Spurs would be still playing right now and we wouldn't have this conversation

I wish him the best, and for the sake of continuity, I want to see him back, but I wouldn't be too hurt to see him go.

Sixers will get him for cheap. And Simmons will turn him back into 2013-15 Green
How? He’s missing wide open shots

He will opt out to try to seek at least a 3 year deal. I'm sure he would like a 4th year, but don't see any teams offering that many yeas. He flat out sucked this season. I wouldn't mind bringing him back on a 3 year $15-16 million dollar deal with the team having the option on that last year, but don't think that would happen.

He's not opting out for that contract.

His D is invaluable but his shot is beyond broke.
How can a player move so well on defense sliding his feet, yet look like his body is possessed by ghost drunken jacky Chan on offense.. I mean he seriously looks bow-legged ~spelling~. In ordinary peeps it’s ok in pro athletes not so much.

He’s opting in. Noone gonna pay him 10m a year like our contract for his player option. We need to worry about unloading Gasols contract

Danny’s shot disappeared the last couple of years. He just looks awful at times. We could have stretched GSW if he had shot the ball well.
Green is a system player and the system degenerated into iso ball the last couple of years to coddle the autist.

I am actually hoping Mills goes there to replace Red . Sixers can't afford to re-sign him at 20 million plus and Mills would thrive in that role at half the price.

Smart choice on his part, angling for the long-term deal while he's a year younger. I could easily see him back with the Spurs, but I also think he'll see how the Kawhi saga plays out.

Gonna miss Green but it’s the end of the line.

One of the GOAT role players.

Dude will get near full MLE money for 3 years somewhere. Or some structure where first two are front loaded and last is a partial guarantee (like Pau).

Danny has been great. I loved his story arch too. But, like many other guys on the team, they’ve asked him to be a 2-3 option this year, when he really is a 4-5 option, even in this prime. He’s looked out of his elements.

Hope he lands somewhere good like a Philly team that needs some vet help, and better yet if we can find a way to make it a trade for some assets.

I don't think Danny got ANY minutes in the second half of a close out playoff game. He's not starting SG material anymore.

I remember people used to ask him to develop into a player who can create his own shots - I don't think he ever had that talent and now you have a dysfunctional hybrid

There could be a few reasons IMO..he could want to play elsewhere and feels like he'll never be able to be effective in SA's system anymore(which is obviously true, as we have seen)..takes a shorter deal elsewhere to raise his value for a subsequent contract..

He seems to be the only teammate somewhat close to Kawhi, he might know that Kawhi won't be a Spur, next season..

Maybe he's currently looking for more security on a longer deal and feels like he might continue to get worse(I doubt that, since pro athletes are irrationally confident, but possible) next season..

I like Green, but don't think he works as well now in this system. Would be nice to find a new SG who is more dynamic on offense without sacrificing too much on defense. If Murray can work on his jump shot more ...

    Lots of ifs/ands/buts ...

He won’t get 10 mil but he is after multi year deal. I could see him getting 3 for 24 mil range.

Everything ends and his time with the Spurs has ended. I wish him well and hope he has a good future.
