2006 WCSF against the Mavericks. He took a wet on anyone that guarded him that series. Unfortunately the Manu foul ruined that one.
In your opinion which 5 playoff series were the best of Tim Duncan's career? I'm talking about in terms of production and his overall dominance. In no particular order, I chose:
-2003 Western Conference Finals vs the Mavericks
-2003 NBA Finals vs the Nets
-2003 Western Conference Semifinals vs the Lakers
-1999 NBA Finals vs the Knicks
For the 5th one I had a tough time deciding between the 2005 WCF and the 2007 2nd round series.....both against the Suns. If I'm forced to chose one, I would say the 2005 series, given the fact that he was playing with both of his ankles sprained.
Thoughts?

except DeSagana Diop in overtime tbh![]()
Yeah, it's impressive what he was able to do with plantar fasciitis.
the manu foul

was thinking the same tbh. it was sad to see timmy trying to score against that scrub.
also.
99' lakers
03' lakers
03' nets
07' cavs (dude was a beast defensively)
99' knicks
Duncan was exhausted by the start of OT. He played pretty much the whole entire game and logged in a total of 49 minutes and had to do a lot of heavy lifting in that game since the Spurs were down by 20 at the start of the game. I remember hearing at the time after the game he was dehydrated. He had to be treated with an IV after the game.
Didn't Duncan put up monster numbers against the Lakers in 01 and 02? That was probably his physical peak.
Yeah, he was cramping. He actually alluded to it in his interview with Letterman in 2014 when he got asked about LeBron cramping. Sucks...but the Spurs never caught a break that whole series...
Yeah, he did. He had 34 and 25 in the elimination game in 2002.
Diop isn't the reason Duncan missed a few shots in 2006 game 7...he just hit the point of exhaustion and missed a few shots. He was incredible that series overall.
damn guys it was 12 years ago... diop had a good moment
2003 vs Lakers.
No one expected Spurs would win the series, media loved those three-peat Lakers as much as they love Warriors on these days, 13 straight playoff wins.. And Tim beat them.
That series was a classic.
He was the finals mvp in 2014 before Ray happened.
Ray stepped on the line.
Ray went home empty-handed in 2014 tbh
Miss watching Duncan play...
13 - it's like the year didn't happen.
2004 Vs Lakers I'm not looking at the numbers; but I remember Duncan being clutch (e.g. the should've been winning runner over Shaq). I don't know if from the stats standpoint, it is top 5 or not; but he came to not only neutralize Shaq but do better than him in his first postseason w/o D-Rob.
In my opinion, TF was every bit as good in 2004 as he was in 2003, he just had injuries.
Went straight up offense and defense against Shaq in 4th Q of game 6 too.
That's one of my 5 all-time favorite Tim Duncan games.
Well, one of your next threads could be about it...
I know most people here -me included- would love to see data and videos of Tim in that series. And the stupid articles before the first game where most NBA media guys had Lakers as winners because Tim "wasn't enough" to beat them...HE WAS!
