Patty was our 3rd best player down the stretch. He played a ton of minutes. Played 3 different roles, starting point, backup point, starting sg. I see why he got that contract for how well he played down the stretch. Leonard would have open things up for him.
this is insulting to albatrosses.
He looked like an albatross to start the season. People forget how he started the season right where he left it off against GSW a year ago.. with bad shooting and poor decision making, horrible defense. His "no pressure" comments made it look worse.
He ended the season in a better personal note tho.
Considering the Spurs struggles with their shooting, the youth and inexperience of new guards (and lack of shooting from Dijon), and Tony and Manu having a foot out in retirement at least... I don't see him getting traded.
I’ve said before, I firmly believe Mills played himself into a positive asset. IF SA wanted to get rid of Mills they may actually get something in return vs having to give something.
3 years at 36M is not a bad deal any more for Mills.
Yeah, unless PATFO gets deposed, I don't see Patty getting traded. The last hope is that he will return to his spark-off-the-bench role and play half the minutes he logged this season.
Basically, the Spurs need to reduce the quan y in their backcourt while increasing the quality. Don't really see that happening.
I think someone else said, if DG goes, Mills could well start like this year as the 2 guard. Murray is already an All NBA defensive guard & he's got the length & anticipation to guard the 1 & 2. I'm assuming even with DJ's progression, he's still not going to be much of a threat from 3 this year, so you couldn't have anymore non shooting starters. It'll never happen, but I'd be interested if Green came back, to move Kawhi to the 4 - DJ, Mills, Green, Kawhi, LMA. Would give you shooting, guys who can move off the ball, creators & ridiculous defense.

I wouldn’t mind:
Murray/White/Danny/Kawhi/LMA
Then get another ball handler like a Tyreke Evans type to play with Mills off the bench.
I'm sure Brown would be cool with adding Mills to the Sixers.
Package Mills with Kwahi and make the team that wants Kwahi take Mills. Gets us free of two possible problems at one time. Take two good players or supergood and draft pick.
Mills is awful.
If he shows up fat again on media day ... God help us all.
