He played well for OKC but he just sits out and jacks 3's up and goes inside for the occasional rebound or jumpshot. I think he could do well alongside Kawhi, LMA though. He's not worth that contract though so I wouldn't try and acquire him.

    per reddit:

Carmelo Anthony was last in "Distance Run Per Game" in the 2017-18 season, averaging 2.01 miles per game. That means players like Embiid, DeAndre, and Dwight traveled more on the court per game, while playing *fewer* minutes as well!

Carmelo was also 4th-worst in "Avg Speed Per Game", trailing just Harden, Gasol, and Cousins.

I'd take him if the thunder somehow cut him and Spurs sign him kinda like the Michael Finley deal

Melo is like finely aged Jello, even better when cold. Sure he might give you an occasional shake & and a giggle but when it comes down to it, Jello always melts under pressure or turns watery when you apply heat..

no!!!! He sucks. And as would say, "he isn't over himself." He still thinks he's an All Star in this league.

Melo is probably a good deal better than he's played recently. But eventually, you are how you perform. The Melo that was there in 2012 or whenever he helped the team get to the second round was an offensively-slanted version of LMA from this year. Anything like that guy would obviously be a huge boon for the team. But the net-negative loafer/chucker isn't worth it. However, if he somehow comes on the market and could be had for a reasonable deal, I wouldn't be against making the attempt. The Spurs missed out on some important scoring talent by passing on a number of "non-Spur" players who went for min deals or otherwise small contracts. The team isn't in a position to consistently turn up their noses to those types of players. Not saying Melo is an option, but not every player with a bad rep can be off the table.

He's not a winning player anymore. He doesn't want to be a roleplayer, he is going to end up throwing others under the bus and would not accept benching without drama. He's going to be hard to fit in anywhere. I don't think there's any way PATFO considers him unless they want to tank.

Only thing I respect about Carmelo is how he always maximized his earnings..he never cared about winning or how others would react, he goes wherever the money is located..

pretty sure he was from New York. No harm in going back, especially if it's for a good contract

he fits in well with russ tbh... they can both go after their individual goals all they want (money for melo, stats for wb) and dont care if they get in each others way from winning. match made in heaven tbh. might as well hire jason kidd as head coach... somebody else who just wants spotlight more than wins

Wade is never leaving Miami, they love him there.

Speaking of that, a lot of people on this site think the Spurs can attract anyone. That's not the case. SA sucks balls compared to cities like Miami, much less comparing it to living in NYC, LA, Chicago, Boston, or other world class cities. Believe what you want, but living in Stone Oak or the Dominion isn't cutting it for today's star (for the most part). It's a supply and demand thing, and you take what you can get in a small town. And with an awesome coaching staff, that's basically all you need. See the Jazz as an example.

i don't disagree wade's a free agent, so if the spur were gonna put energy into signing another old player i'd just rather it be him.

No Paul George? If we had Kawhi and PG, we would be pretty impressive defensively and offensively

Is he getting bought out? I thought if anyone can set him up is CP3 and D’Antoni’s style of play. Losing Ariza really hurt Houston. Dang what a waste of talent
