I think Clapper and Brennan were working with or through Snopes along with other fake media outlets and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The CIA and DNI was undoubtedly trying to influence the election imo. Snopes is heavily biased - this is common knowledge, but it favors your ideology so naturally you would want to defend it.
