Why would any of that reduce my trust on Snopes' content?

So, you're inclined to believe that someone who would lie, cheat, and steal from his company would be an exemplary purveyor of truth?

If the company's product delivers, why would I care if the head honcho is a liar, gay, or whatever? I don't interact with the guy, I interact with the product, and the product is solid.

I mean, Barry was a compulsive liar, but I appreciate they nailed Bin Laden... just like Trump is a compulsive liar, but if he gets the NK deal done, hey, great stuff. They're visible faces of a larger group of people doing good or bad things.

I praised Snopes on their presentation, transparency, and disclosure. Would love to see more of that from the MSM in general. I think that adds value and trust, but then again, I also understand not everyone can do it without jeopardizing their finances.

Still waiting for alleged tilted/biased fact checks... you would think for a front of the CIA spreading misinformation, it would be a quick find, tbh...

Well, you choose to believe something you have no proof of, and hope it to be true. That's pretty much the definition of faith.

When you say: "I believe that the CIA is a sanctioned criminal organization" you're telling me what you believe, but not what you know. The latter would require you to have some sort of evidence of that to be the case, but if you did, you probably wouldn't be the first one to have such evidence, and there would be no CIA.

In a sense, you rather go with your intuition and form opinion on that vs actually accept that either there's no evidence to support the claim or that the findings are inconclusive, and 'don't know' is a perfectly valid answer.

In reality, everything is a lot simpler. Things either are or are not, and if we didn't find out yet, 'don't know' is a perfectly rational position. This applies to all areas that attempt futurology, including religion, science, sports, etc.

Unless you're doing specific research on the 'don't know' state, it's actually pretty boring, uneventful and not really worth the time subject, IMVHO.

BTW, I'm not going to chastise you for having an opinion, that's perfectly valid, even if I don't share it.

When one claims superiority in reasoning skills and then chooses to believe the most bizarre explainations to form opinions, yeah, you get called out as an idiot. The lack of self awareness is astounding. The dude actually thinks he is some sort of uniquely elevated debating machine.

Honestly, in the mild form, it all comes down to education. And by that I don't mean just picking up a book or two, but also the environment you grew up on, if you were allowed to be intellectually curious from an early age, etc.

Then you have the flat out paranoid types, that's an actual mental condition, which requires professional help and medication.

It can be amusing, but also sad too...

There are a lot of paid sophists working this site. One tactic that they use is to try to create the illusion of wide support for a stand on an issue. The proof that the moon missions were faked is so clear that it makes a good objectivity test. Those posters who continuously maintain that they went to the moon know the missions were faked as well as the hoax-believers do. Those posters are obviously being paid to try to keep the public thinking the way the government wants them to think.
