East Jerusalem is predominantly Muslim and the Palestinians want it to be their capital of their separate state. Was the US way of saying no to that. The official US position has been a separate Palestinian state, but the actual borders of such a country is the big issue.
My question was the article (VOX) said Obama was in favor of this plan and stated Jerusalem is the undivided Capitol. Does that sound vastly different than what's going on now?

The term "Palestinian" is itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Canaanite tribe, the Phillistines, that died out almost 3000 years ago. In the game of who belongs where, the area now known as Israel was a barren wasteland ignored by all until the Israel industrialization.
The bottom line is this is about the age old battle between those who have verses those who do not. In this instance Israel earned theirs.
