They lose in the opening round against the Clippers (I guess Kawhi wasn't the offensive juggernaut then that he became suddenly), then they signed Aldridge. That he wasn't as good as Durant has no bearing on the fact that the Spurs wanted to sign the best player they could sign. They were ONE year out of winning the ring. One. Same with Golden State.
