Boston was without him last year.
And they don't miss him this year.

the only difference is Kyrie's absence on Cleveland
The main difference is the Celtics having Tatum this year, plus Scary Terry playing instead of no-defense chuckers like Isaiah or "Killa" Kyrie.

trying to 82 and 92 points in b2b playoff games as not needing an elite 2nd scorer
If Kyrie was "elite" at anything, the Celtics wouldn't be going to the Finals without him.

Of course he misses Kyrie, but that has nothing to do with Kyrie himself..they just desperately need talent

Irving is a great talent, but has minimal impact, as Boston is proving..

Averaging 30 PPG in the Finals and hitting clutch shots to close out arguably the best team of all time = Minimal impact.

Lebron stans have officially lost the plot

Leroids busted his load in the semis like he usually does

East and nba finals were always Killa Kylie time

While lebron would just jump on his back

No more kyrie so lebron looks like a busted doll

    Cavs have no leader

"Killa" Kyrie without LeGOAT or Stevens holding his hand:

    21-45, no playoffs
    24-58, no playoffs
    33-49, no playoffs

And spare me the "he was young on a bad team" excuse. Donovan Mitc and Ben Simmons are rookies and they both have their teams in the second round, when they were expected to miss the playoffs.
Just look at all that impact

I would say almost any NBA guard duo would have been an improvement.
    Except Paddy and Parker.

The entire premise that Boston doing fine without Kyrie thus saying Kyrie wasn't important to the Cavs is flawed.

    1) Kyrie offers a very specific skill set, he creates shots, he scores at a relatively efficient rate for a chucker, and he is clutch. He offers something that compliments Lebron very well on offense. Yes, he is a sieve on defense but strong defense is not what the Cavs require at that position, that's not his role. However, strong defense at every position is what the Celtics need though. Additionally, the Celtics want to have a more free flowing offense. Kyrie dribbles the ball, a lot. To be honest, I am not sure if Kyrie getting hurt actually helps Boston.

    2) While I am not sure if Kyrie getting hurt actually helps Boston, there is also the chance that Boston could have done even better with Kyrie. This is a strawman. Boston didn't win 82 and 16, so yes, they can improve. What is to say that Boston won't be dominating like the Warriors if Kyrie was there and fully integrated in Boston?

    great points,
Celts not missing Kyrie and LeBron missing his shot making and
    finishing are NOT mutually exclusive.

Wally Pipp argument. If Drew Bledsoe gets injured and Tom Brady is his back-up, the team is obviously not going to miss Bledsoe too much. Rozier putting up great performances allows the Celtics to not miss Kyrie’s production too much. And he didn’t even need to replace Kyrie’s production exactly. The Celtics have two top three picks that also helped pick up the slack, as well as quality depth from several other players. What Rozier has done simply makes things much easier for everyone else to not have to do too much.

it will be interesting how brad will balance that roster next year. id imagine kyrie would still feed first but do you really want him to considering how good the roster is.

tbh, im actually more interested in how hayward would fit. it seems like he’s that one guy that would flourish under stevens.

Agree. Hayward’s skills are dime a dozen. Players with clutch DNA’s are harder to find. You need a “killa” like Kyrie in crunch time.

I’d stand pat though if I’m Ainge, see how far this unit does when healthy.

yes.. he is definitely missing a consistent scorer like kyrie who could create his own shot and put up 30 or more points and make clutch shots...
