Yankees fans are the worst
boggles my mind that school shootings are a partisan issue
Yankees fans are the worst
It's a gun issue, plain and simple.
Obviously Call of Duty's fault.
It's sadly simple how to "improve" things at least.
But the extreme sects of both sides make themselves and their talking points basically intolerable.

No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens
SANTA FE, TX—In the hours following a violent rampage in Texas in which a lone attacker killed eight individuals and seriously injured several others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly concluded Friday that there was no way to prevent the massacre from taking place. “This was a terrible tragedy, but sometimes these things just happen and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop them,” said Ohio resident Erica Webb, echoing sentiments expressed by tens of millions of individuals who reside in a nation where over half of the world’s deadliest mass shootings have occurred in the past 50 years and whose citizens are 20 times more likely to die of gun violence than those of other developed nations. “It’s a shame, but what can we do? There really wasn’t anything that was going to keep this individual from snapping and killing a lot of people if that’s what they really wanted.” At press time, residents of the only economically advanced nation in the world where roughly two mass shootings have occurred every month for the past eight years were referring to themselves and their situation as “helpless.”
Were they posting on ST when they should have been on security duty?
Maybe the # could be doubled to 4 or even 8.
what extreme act from the gun control advocates are you citing?
the pseudo-fear of second amendment repeal and forced confiscation of weapons?
yep, a white guy, they took him alive. happens all the time
How about 100?
300?
One for each student?
part and parcel of living in the US
In Paris (France = 600K jews, 6M Maghrebins), a Jewish school has 12 ft walls, razor wire, guard towers.
Sounds like a great solution for America
wonder if the shooter comes from bad genes, or has refused to assimilate, or learn english, or is low-skilled?
Yeah. The extreme sects.
But again, even with more background checks and all these other proposals aimed at adults, how do we get kids from acquiring guns they steal from their (hypothetically) responsible, sane parents?
so on the gun control crowd, the extreme sects = people on the internet calling for things that to my knowledge, no elected official in power has pushed for...
whereas on the anti-gun control crowd, the extreme sects, people who think there should be zero changes and in fact we need more guns to solve the problem = the elected officials in power
that's an important distinction. there's a divide and extreme sects, but only one side is represented by that extreme in government
Whatever it takes.
We have people here who posted 99,999 times.
That's true, all true and should have made the distinction between the politicians and the people. My comment was more aimed at the "people on the internet".
That said, and this always leads to a halt in the dialogue:
Even with more stringent background checks and removing/banning semi auto war machines from the marketplace, how do we stop kids from stealing their "Responsible gun owner" parents' guns and prevent this from happening?
Gun control measures aimed at adults won't prevent this from happening, which is happening at higher rates more and more in this age group over the past decades, lending credence this is a societal issue as much as it is a "there's guns errwhere" issue.
What will it take?
i dont think its people on the internet who are the ones responsible for gridlock from lawmakers though. you are right that in the internet/media, the dialogue goes nowhere. that doesn't excuse lawmakers. can't play the "both side are too extreme" when in reality the gun control side gets completely shut down even at the suggestion of minor regulation that wouldn't jeopardize people's rights, ie bumpstocks
trump then pretends to be a middleman in televised negotiations knowing full well that 's not happening. dude pretends to criticize a congressman for not acting do to fear from NRA, and then trump becomes NRA's keynote speaker a few months later
So the guy was a proud christian....
Christian sharia?
Funny how these shooters all have a very smiloar view to life....

Trump's an absolute moron and a fraud. Definitely everything I thought he could have changed he absolutely flip flopped on and now he's an island onto himself and now has the , well you know the types of dude's defending him...
Texas 'thoughts and prayers' Republicans cash more NRA checks than anyone else
It’s also important to note that the NRA loves Texas Republicans.
According to Texas Monthly, Texas Republicans have gotten the most yummy money from the NRA since 1998.
Nine members of the Texas delegation—all Republicans—received A+ ratings from the NRA.
These include senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn.
Another 18 members—all Republicans except for U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Laredo—received an A grade.
Seven Democrats, including U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke—who is hoping to unseat Cruz in the Senate this fall—received an F rating.
Only two Texas Democrats—U.S. Rep. Gene Green, from Houston, and Cuellar—accepted any money from the NRA.
An important thing to note about the “numbers” given below: They are complete lowball numbers of direct contributions to these elected officials.
They do not include the myriad other dark avenues through which big money contributors can give to campaigns.
Santa Fe High School is in Republican Randy Weber’s district. Randy has a coveted “A” rating from the NRA.
