    (D. Green 2013 NBA Finals Game 6: 1-7 FG, 1-5 3FG)
    D. Green 2013 NBA Finals Game 7: 1-12 FG, 1-6 3FG

    (T. Ariza 2017 WCF Game 6: 6-18, 2-9 3FG)
    T. Ariza 2017 WCF Game 7: 0-12, 0-9 3FG

Don't get me wrong, we still totally should've traded Kawhi for him, obviously. But I just find the comparison to be intriguing. Each of them likely cost their teams a trophy.

Except Trevor didn't dominate the first five games to the point of forcing GS to scrap their game plan, and didn't stop Lebron one on one to give his team the ball back down one with less than a minute to go. Trevor didn't pull a Green he pulled an worse-than-Green.

Ariza has had good playoff runs in the past, especially in 2009, this is just the nature of role players..they aren't stars for a reason..

Considered the defensive equation. Ariza was the Rockets' best defender against Durant, no?

I think the point was that he was a contributor and a vital piece of that team winning like DG was back then and just laid a couple of eggs when the team needed him most. IDGAF what DG did in the games prior to the ones where he all over himself. He was doing his job then. He didn’t in the last two games and we lost.

2009 was the last time Ariza was a meaningful player. That's why he ended up in with the Chuckets - I remember he stood up to the Lakers for special treatment and they told him to FO

The Rockets lost because of poor coaching. His players were tired come late in the game because he never used the bench enough to keep them fresh in the fourth quarter.

Green did his job in those last two games way better than anyone else did. He forced the Cavs to focus on him, which gave Tim and Kawhi easy looks. If a role-player can create space for a star, that's amazing. Plus, you should give a what Green did in the first five games, because the Spurs won three of those. It was never his job to carry SA to victory.

In the season, guys like Ryan Anderson were part of the system. He completely abandoned that; I think it cost him.
