Kobe and his fans are absolutely deluded on this.
Look at all advanced stats, see single season highs or career averages, playoffs or regular season, with stacked teams or on bad teams where stats can be easily ac ulated, and Kobe is nowhere near the elite of the game. The very best is to put him somewhere in the borderline top 10, and much worse if you wanted to argue.
His "greatness" depends very much on a narrative that he and his followers created for him as the closes player resembling Mike, and on Mitch Kupchak pulling off a robbery with the Pau for Kwame trade. Take that trade away and his legacy is below Dirk and KG's.

Possibly, but he comes off as more passive aggressive than Kobe. I'm betting that if twitter existed back in his prime that he would have had someone running his account for PR. He was the cash cow for the new look NBA, no way they let him speak without a filter.
