The good news is if we are to believe Las Vegas, Kawhi is a heavy favorite to stay a Spur and Lebron is a heavy favorite to land in PHI.

Why join injury prone CP3? And I don’t think Houston can clear cap space unless both CP3 and LeBron take massive cuts

i don't think lebron would want to be in the same div as lenard. so either KL goes east and gsw houston contest the west, or lebron gets knocked out of the 2nd round

If HOU can trade Ryan Anderson for little to nothing back, everything is possible. But Morey offered 2 first round picks this deadline to move Ryan Anderson and was denied. What team knowing that it means HOU will land Lebron will help HOU? There might be some team out there but I imagine that price is going to be steep.

Probably worth it no matter what the price since it’s Lebron but it will be very interesting to see.

Ryan Anderson is precisely why LeBron won't be going to Houston. No one is going to take that huge bag of trash. The dude is dead weight.

Agree. If Spurs keep Kawhi, it’s not going to be easy in the West for LeBron if he signs with Houston. In the East, Celts is just gonna get better. Sixers is option but going against a loaded Celts is not going to be easy. I still think LeBron’s best chance to beat Dubs is to team-up with Kawhi, with a resurgent All-NBA LMA, All Defensive Team Murray coached by best coach.

I think LeBron would be a better fit in San Antonio than in Houston. And given cap rules, I think the Spurs can provide a deeper, more talented roster overall if LeBron chooses to come here than the Rockets can.

Here's hoping LeBron recognizes that too and makes the right decision.

    Paul
    Harden
    Tucker
    James
    Capela

That could be Rockets potential line up..but LeBron would have to S&T with Cavs taking Gordon and Anderson

James is a PG that plays small ball 4. Playing with two other PG's will then take away other players strengths. There will need to be a steady stagger in the rotation so that each player runs the team for 5 minutes at a time. It just wouldn't work. The Rockets staggered CP3 so he could start and play against back up pg's. It worked really well. But adding a 3rd PG would be hard to manage. I know Harden played off the ball with Durant and Westbrook, but back then Harden was the 6th man play maker, and not a starting point guard. Harden is one of the those guys that needs to ball. He gets disengaged if you doesn't.

Spurs have no true point guard other than Parker, who may not even be playing next season. Murray is kinda a point guard but could be a in between Tony Allen and Macus Smart type of a player. Mills is a sg, frobes is a sg. White is a sg. Leonard is not a playmaker. Out of those two teams, Lebron fits better if we can get actual shooters. He will know that Leonard will guard the best player. And if Murray is around, the best guard. I mean for Lebron, he will just run the show. The Leonard and Lebron duo is far more dominate than what Rockets have.

I agree with most of your points, and LeBron would make everyone around him better. I would love to see a Mills-Green-Leonard-James-LMA lineup, but if we can get James, none of the Mills/Green/Gasol trio will be in San Antonio anymore. This is why we are screwed. To make this team appealing for James, Mills is essential, Green is a buddy of James, and I don't see any suitor for Gasol, unless we take back bad contracts which won't work either if our plan is to sign James. S&T is a whole different story as we have nothing to give to Cleveland other than LMA/Murray/Leonard and they won't be included, that's for sure.
Even though the idea of our new big 3 is exciting as f*ck, it won't happen.

Gay/Green opt in is big here. That's why I think they opt out so spurs cannot trade them. We can take 25% more cap in a trade. So we have to send about about 26.5mil for Lebron alone. That's just Gasol and Mills for example. If Green opts in, its Gasol, green and some small pieces. Why would the cavs want that? Well, losing Lebron for 0 is far worse. Adding picks and cash considerations is worthwhile for the cavs. They can buyout Gasol. Package picks with bad contracts so they start a rebuild the following season. Every million they save is actually 3 mil in tax. If Lebron wants to sign, he must take a discount like Durant, because its just not likely to gut the team to make 35mil in space.

Losing Lebron for nothing is actually better than bringing in Gasol and Mills, tbh.

Its actually not. Not when you attach picks and cash considerations. They need them to package Hill, Smith, and Thompson. Mills contract is nothing comparing to them. They would prefer Green over Mills though, but that requires Green to opt in. Getting rid of one of ill, Smith, and Thompson. without losing their own pick saves a ton of cash. They could start the rebuild as early as 2020, rather than waiting 2021.

If Lebron is coming, those SAS pick will be between 28 and 30, making them essentially second round picks, thus not the most valuable assets.

The question really should be how much control does spurs FO want to give team lebron & Kawhis group. Then you will have an educated guess on how likely lebron is coming.

What is Lebron going to do to JR Smith after this game? You think he will rip his head off in the locker room, or you think he'll be a good teammate? Another brain meltdown from JR Smith.
