This. I guess you can play in China with no knees. He lost all of his lift by the time he left SA, and that's also why he dropped like a rock in the draft, after being considered near lottery talent. He just wasn't built to last.

Had Blair not got himself suspended against us in the first round, we would have lost that series. And I just still don't understand. U got duncan, blair on the bench and parker on the floor to get a rebound and play defense in game 6 hahaha

It would have been interesting to see if Blair could have survived in the modern era better than he could a few years ago. Dude wasn't a floor-spacer (obviously), but he wasn't a stiff either. The Spurs in particular would have benefited from his PnR dives off the bench. Dude had good hands and a variety of finishes. Defensively, things would have been dicey, especially with no ACLs. but I think his niche would have been more secure.

Don't tell Spurtacular. He needs to keep the Jimmer dream alive thinking that somehow what Jimmer does in China translates to the NBA.

Have to feel bad for this guy to some extent. Pace and space killed big men who thrived in the post. Knees are doing him a favor. Will likely play out his career in obscure leagues as a traditional foreign center.

You mean mentally/heatlh-wise? Because he was on the bench for that. Not that he would have helped, and Tim allowed a game-winning three I think the very next season.

Playing with a near prime Manu was a big factor for Blair, he'd struggle massively with the current Spurs where no one can pass out of a PnR.

That's very true. The Spurs don't have a PnR guard any more than they have a PnR big right now.

For those that didn't know, Blair was a headache for PATFO, than he was for the opposing teams we faced, that is why he was not brought back..

Cojo dunked on Ibaka though. Isn't that better than a Kawhi/Jimmy Butler duo?

Yes. Blair was always active and a great offensive rebounder. No one likes to admit he made splitter look like garbage in the dal sa series.

Did you see the stands in those highlights? I've played in bigger high school gyms. And the stands were less than 20% full. I'd bet that game had less than 1,000 people there.

I thought China was the most populated country on the planet??? You mean they can't get at least a 1,000 of those billions of people to show up to watch the great Dejuan Blair explode for 42 points??? WTF?!!
