I wonder why anyone isn’t hyping Chandler Hutchinson up more, he’s a legit 6’7 do it all forward, can shoot well enough, great handles, aggressive to the basket, can finish above the rim, I hope we draft him.
I like him too. But he's a base-hit guy to me. Solid starter but not incredible. Walker is up there with Bagley for me. I'd be content to get Hutchison; I'd be ecstatic to get Walker.

the word is he got a promise from some team and cancelled work outs. It was rumored to be from a team in the 18-22 range which includes the Spurs. Might be him. Who knows?

Easiest way to get Walker would be as part of a Leonard trade for sure. He'd still be an interesting pick for his potential paring with Murray, but adding a dynamic guard is the best thing the Spurs can do to revamp their current core.
Chinook if we did Philly trade who you pick Mikal Porter, Carter, or Walker?

The Spurs might want someone with a little more athleticism and upside than Hutchison (but heck I thought Kuzma, another Rocky Mountain collegian, had limited upside).

I think this is one of the deepest draft in recent years, with plenty of athletic wings and big men. Spurs could potentially wound up with a star player and one solid role. Perhaps Kawhi playing only 9 games, making sure he comes back 100% and getting lucky in the draft might not be too bad.

Can't judge Carter. Haven't looked at him at all. Would consider Bridges to be slightly behind Walker. I wouldn't worry about Fultz either. There's enough minutes for all four young guards if the team is rebuilding. Would prefer the LAC deal, though. Might be able to get two of those guys.

Athletic wings that could be available at #18:

    1. Zhaire Smith, SG (best athlete but unlikely he's available)

    2. Gary Trent Jr., SG (would be a solid pick; A higher upside Danny)

    3. Troy Brown, SF (my fav of the bunch; Chip could work his magic)

    4. Lonnie Walker, SG (little undersized but attacks the rim well & we need that badly)

    5. Dzanan Musa, SF (would be a classic Spurs pick)

    6. Keita Bates-Diop, SF (oldest of the bunch but well-rounded role player)

    7. Chandler Hutchinson, SF (another Senior with a well-rounded game; Seems like a Spurs-type personality)
Add two more to the pile

    8. Josh Okogie
    9. Kevin Huerter
    and as a bonus
    10. Grayson Allen

Does anyone think Zhaire Smith could fit on our roster? If he starts with Murray I don't know about that spacing. If he comes off the bench he'd be stuck fighting for minutes with Patty, TP, White, Forbes, Paul, and Ginobili. He's also like 6'4"
He'd be good but the size is an issue. But, he tends to play bigger than he is, does all the small things on the court, and is a talented defender.

The height hurts in that he might need more ball skills than he has, but he'll be 19 all next year so he's very young and can improve. He'd probably be stuck in the d-league anyway.

Take out Gary Trent JR and Musa.

Put in Melvin Frazier, Shake Melton and De'anthony Melton. I'd take any and all those 3 over Gary Trent, Musa, Allen, Hutchison.

Mitc Robinson has to be the guy. 7'1 with shoes. 5-star recruit who didn't go to college, therefore will most likely be there at 18/19. Experts rate him as the best rim protector in his class and he's great at running the floor. The foundation for having a jumpshot is there too.

Just hope it's not Grayson Allen, DiVincenzo, or Dzanan Musa. Gross....
He's probably the best rim protector in the league. God damn it Spurs. He would've been perfect here.

It was sickening to see us pass on him for another guard.
