What On Earth Is Going On With George Papadopoulos?

We knew little about George Papadopoulos until last October when his plea deal with the Special Counsel’s office revealed that he was a key point of contact with Russian operatives during the 2016 campaign.

Later we learned that his inebriated discussion with an Australian diplomat was the trigger that launched the Russia probe in July of 2016.

He made a deal, has been cooperating and recently the Special Counsel’s office filed court papers signaling he’s likely completed his cooperation and is ready for sentencing.

All of this is what you’d expect for a cooperating witness.

But last night, Papadopoulos’s wife was on Fox asking President Trump for a pardon and seemingly claiming that George had been set up.

Now, it goes without saying that these are two different people, George Papadopoulos and his wife Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos.

In practice though it’s hard to believe she’d go public with something so dramatically different from what he’s saying and what would seem to be his legal interests.

Remember, the Special Counsel’s office still has the hammer of sentencing hanging over him.

By any normal logic, he’s in no position to antagonize them.

    lol always a conspiracy.

Once it's out there will be a new conspiracy theory about why it wasn't what the conspiracy theorists wanted it to be.

In May 1890, a theosophical journal calledThe Path dismissed the 1885 exposure of Helena Blavatsky by the Society for Psychical Research, in which it was discovered that Blavatsky relied on an elaborate system of informants for her “psychic” insights, as a “conspiracy theory.” In 1881, the phrase appears in Rhodes’ Journal of Banking: “As evidence of a conspiracy this showing is pitiful, and in any view, the charge is ridiculous, as no conspiracy theory is needed to account for the facts.”

An even older reference to “conspiracy theory” can be found in the medical literature of 1870, during a public debate about the growth of asylums and the treatment of inmates in the UK.

The theory of Dr. Sankey as to the manner in which these injuries to the chest occurred in asylums deserved our careful attention. It was at least more plausible that [sic] the conspiracy theory of Mr. Charles Reade

1870 is funny since the Lincoln assassination actually was a conspiracy.

Also, lol Chris for having a conspiracy theory about the term conspiracy theory.

Good article from former Federal/State prosecutor George Parry.

Dowd and Sekulow posit that Mueller cannot legally demonstrate a compelling need to interview the president since the information to be obtained by such an interrogation has already been provided in the massive do ent production and testimony given by the witnesses voluntarily made available to Team Mueller. Counsel argue persuasively that, under applicable case law, without being able to prove such a compelling need in court, Mueller cannot require the president to appear for questioning.

In short, although I would have pursued a scorched earth policy, it is nevertheless true that the approach taken by John Dowd and his colleagues have placed their client in a very strong legal position should Mueller try to subpoena the president to appear before a grand jury. By laboriously reviewing the record in discovery, counsel have not only deconstructed the fic ious and fatuous claims against the president, they have also provided a very clear and convincing first draft of a motion to quash any such ill-conceived grand jury subpoena.

Equally important, counsel reference the October 16, 2000 Memorandum Opinion for the Attorney General by the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel led A Sitting President’s Amenability to Indictment and Criminal Prosecution. This long-accepted and well-established opinion, which is binding on all elements of the Justice Department including Team Mueller, states unequivocally that the indictment or criminal prosecution of a sitting president would uncons utionally undermine the capacity of the executive branch to perform its cons utionally assigned functions. In other words, as a matter of fundamental cons utional law, a sitting president cannot be criminally charged or prosecuted. Certainly as a former FBI Director and long-time denizen of the Justice Department, Mueller must have been aware of this prohibition.

When Mueller nailed John Gotti, he first built the underlying crime. Then he started with his underlings and flipping them. Then he got the Lieutenants and indicted them. Then he got a captain, Sammy the Bull. Then he got the Don.

He has established the underlying crime: Conspiracy against the United States. He has indicted 13 Russian for conspiring to undermine our election by defrauding the United States. He has indicted Rick Gates, Van Der Zwaan, Mike Flynn, Nader, Papadopoulus, Manafort's son-in-law and Manafort. 5 of them have pleaded guilty already. Coffee boys and Lieutenants but not Manafort. He's a captain.

Robert Mueller today filed a motion to revoke Manafort's bond because he has him on wire taps trying to tamper with a witness. This is the 2nd time Manafort has violated his conditional release. He *will* be taken into custody and his bond will be revoked. In his filing, they have him trying to suborn perjury.

Manafort has never sat in jail nor slept on a concrete slab for any length of time. He also has not eaten the dog vomit they call food in it. When the reality hits him that he is now facing life in prison, he will RUN to Mueller. This will happen very fast. Manafort will not get back out of jail without making a deal with Mueller unless Trump pardons him. I pray he makes such a mistake because that will be the end of the traitor.

Cohen too is a Captain in this case and he is going to sing like a canary. When he is indicted, he is going to have trouble making bond. His two Captains are staring at two prosecutorial assassins that have the ability to put them in prison for life. If he pardons them, it will be his end. It doesn't matter if he does because they then lose their 5th amendment rights and that means when Mueller calls them before the grand jury, they must testify and if they lie or conceal any crime, they can be recharged for those crimes.

As my old man would say, 'in the law bidness, we call that check and mate.' Trump isn't talking about being above the law and pardoning everyone for no reason. He's sweating and he should be because this looks exactly like how Mueller built his RICO case against Gotti. This also looks exactly like Nixon just before the Saturday Night Massacre.

Politics hasn't been this interesting since Napoleon invaded Moscow and don't forget what the Russians did to him!

related via Essential Consultants LLC, a hypothesis for the Broidy payoff to Shera Bechard:

Mueller's raid on Cohen's office likely also turned up Broidy's bribe to Trump. $1.6M.

As has been explained to you, Podesta isn't going to be indicted by this investigation. Clinton isn't going to be indicted.

Mueller is following a pretty clear pattern. Only your confirmation bias keeps you from seeing it. That is some seriously delusional , pizza-boy. One would think you would learn.
