tbh, I wouldn't mind seeing LeBron/PG/Kawhi take down the Warriors. I'd rather not them do it on the Lakers but whatever. Seeing all those OG Laker bandwagon fans return after a few years of jumping on the Dub Nation train would be kinda funny.

Spurs has no leverage. Ainge will not give them fair market vaue knowing Kawhi’s injury and the fact he may be just a 1 year rental.

Spurs would rather play Kawhi's contract out than get in return. At least that way you take away 60 millions from that stabbing .

Sure and that’s logical from a fans POV but the front office can’t let emotions cloud judgement and influence decisions - when triggered by the situation at hand- to a point where they become unreceptive to possibilities.

I don't see the Spurs trading him to where he would like to go. They will control where he can go.

Vivek and Vlade might cough up the 2nd pick for a rental.

Kawhi would get that 60 mill back during the duration of his contract if he signs with the Lakers.

If Kawhi makes it clear he won't re-sign with the team he's getting traded to then good luck getting anything back besides damaged good like Isaiah Thomas.

Most likely scenario is getting traded to the Sixers considering Brett Brown is now their GM/President/Coach & they also can offer some combination of Saric/Fultz/Covington/10th pick none of whom are "untradable" unlike Brown/Tatum nor do they have another wing player like Hayward who would need major playing time (Re would most likely be gone but they can re-sign Belly-Nelly)

Saric/Covington/10th pick would be reasonable considering Saric/Covington can play right away with LMA & 10th pick might less of a gamble than Fultz who might never rediscover his form. If they can get Bridges with the 10th pick then you would have a solid starting 5 of Murray/Bridges/Covington/Saric/LMA.

Sixers would still have cap space to sign a starting 4 (Randle/Favors/Jabari/Gordon) along with the MLE to go after someone like Danny/Bradley/Hood. They would be smart to give an offer sheet to Randle on July 1st & put the Lakers in a bind then sign one of the guards to the MLE when the market goes dry.

Then the Lakers will have to give up on the Lebron, George dream. Most likely no Lebron cause he won't wait for Leonard.

fck him let him walk man...how much does he end up losing if he walks instead of any trade package....

let him go recoup it somewhere...

i say you sit him for 1 more year, then let him walk, see who is willing to give him top dollar after sitting sideline for 2yrs?
