Maybe he was being sarcastic tbh
It doesn't check out, imo.
He didn't feel betrayed when reports were coming out that tensions between the two sides had cooled and an extension was imminent? Only after Woj reported that PATFO wasn't going to go in on their hands and knees with the supermax?
Honestly, it's possible this just wants the supermax and then pulls some weak a year from now anyway. The only reason to do it is because it gives the team more leverage in trade talks. Theirs no happy ending between the two sides regardless.
Maybe he was being sarcastic tbh
Nice try. Next.
That roster was Vegas betting odds to be 4th most likely to win the chip this year. And it held the 3rd seed most of the year, WITHOUT HIM.
So get the on with that garbage.
Besides last I heard they were trying to get him LeBron next year.
If it's true that Kawhi is asking to get traded to the Lakers, then that's been his plan all along. It didn't matter what Pop/RC/Parker/Manu/Medical Staff/Ball Boy did/said all year. So, no reason to play the blame game. Just ship him East in the best package you can get.
WTF does this even mean?
Uncle Dennis deserves all the credit. Kawhi is a re ed mute no way could he have come up with this scheme on his own.
I'm saying he'd never even make it to SAC to have to worry about 2019. Would SAC believe that the $40M is enough to call his bluff and make the trade anyway? I agree that IF the trade happened, he'd probably stay there. But it's a matter of SAC believing it.
Makes sense imo. Neither team is beating the dubs anyway. And who wants to play for a coach that put out media hits on you all season?
If I'm pop, unless I have a blockbuster deal, I tell Kawhi to try it. And if he does, sue him for two year's salary. Then be sure to show him the quote from his Uncle Dennis wherein he said Kawhi was almost 100%, 96% or 97% to be exact.
PATFO played them to get that admission on the record.
Well that’s something, Ben Simmons and fultz with dj would create such a bad shooting team, and pop loves his three guard lineups
Giving PATFO that much creditRC is a drunk and Pop doesn't give a about basketball anymore.
Can't wait to see this got get booed in SA and the bed on the court. He's a mental midget

If I'm them, I'd flat out tell his disgraceful ass and his s bag representation/mouthpiece in the media (he should be fired immediately and black listed throughout the industry), that short of being blown away by the Celtics, 76ers, or someone unexpected (100% no to L.A.), they're not trading him.
him. He can come back, deal with this awkward, uncomfortable atmosphere that he's helped create and if they have a sense sometime between Dec. 15 (I know you know the significance of that date) and the trade deadline that it's still irreparable, then trade his ass hopefully after he's re-proven himself.
I don't think the offers will change much, if any in that time and even if it does end up costing them a secondary asset like a mid-late 20s pick in the '19 draft, it'll be well worth it to watch his ass have to squirm.
The Sixers aren't trading Simmons.
Was wondering the same thing. Sounds like uncle Dennis wants Pop to tell the world that Kawhi really isn'ta bad guy and really was hurt so his trade value stays up...?!?
You mean drop 40 on the Spurs? Who's going to guard him? Kyle Anderson?![]()
forbes
That should be the play unless you get a ridiculous offer before the draft tbh. They should be in no hurry to trade him.
Ah, so that's your second best theory. Keep fishing.
To me, it means offer the Super Max and we will sign.
At least they won't feel the pressure to trade him like the Cavs did with Kyrie..
Cleveland had to deal with the 24/7 LeBron news cycle, it would have been a major distraction had they kept Kyrie against his wishes..Spurs would get headlines, but wouldn't be much different than we saw all season, it wouldn't take over the basketball world like the Kyrie drama..
I'm not sure I can explain it to you other than to say...it's Sacramento. Their owner thought it would be a good idea to run the cherry-picker offense from his daughter's youth league.![]()
What would be funny is if SA trades him to a non-Laker destination, and then PG13 and Bron look at each other, and realize that the two of them can't get it done against GS, and the whole Laker fantasy falls apart. PG13 takes the extra $40M to stay in OKC, and Bron does whatever he does.
Just like the Spurs next few seasons![]()
