u notice last few years, its all about whether u have a 1 man team (wales/portugal) or a team, all u need is that 1 player who is quick and can take on the defenders and continue to push up forward have a shot on goal or get foul for a free kick is better then trying to play possession ball....
u also notice this wc, countries select their best squad, yet they still select fkn mutts who have no business being on the team, whether its fkn clowns 1 dimensional skill set who just learn how to kick a ball or clowns pass their prime...and dont get me started with friends of friends preferential treatment selection over some known player on a good year

EDIT: Also, although Messi did flub the kick, he was kicking over larger defenders from a much worse angle and against a better goalkeeper. In that cir stance, I could very much see Ronaldo sky'ing one, too.
