Truth bomb. There have been a few of us saying the same thing for a couple of years now. We basically got the confirmation after last offseason. The PATFO slurpers will continue to deny it all though.
Is Pop's shtick running out of gas?
There'll be no DRob or Timmy walking through those doors, LMA wanted out (he's still here) and KL is leaving. I think stars know (but won't say it publicly yet) that the Spurs organization isn't willing to do what it takes to build around a guy they publicly call their face of the franchise. I think LMA and KL were sold the same line, that the Spurs will build around them yet there sits 50m dollar Patty Mills, fathead and wornout TP along with a few "who the " guys and soon to retire Manu. To have Manu as basically the best player on the team is telling.

Jabari is leaking for uncle Dennis. Woj is leaking for the team.
Very few want to come here, anyway. His agent is independent, and has no agency, so there is no blow back there.
him with a sandpaper dildo.
Mills is one of the best backup point guards in the league and has played while being underpaid for a few years.
Kyle has developed into one of the best swing men defenders in the league.
TP suffered a career ending injury, in which he returned from, one year out of his deserving contract.
Gasol was the biggest question mark decision and they should have not re upped him for the extra year and let his contract expire.
Green fell off while still on a contract. He sign that contract when he was one of the best 3&D guys in the league.
Spurs got one of the best post big men in the league and got him extended while players like Milsap & Griffin got huge paydays.
All in all, the spurs biggest mistake was not addressing the need for a dependable guard. It's not exactly the Spurs fault that Parker declined rapidly then suffered the career ender. It's not the Spurs fault that Green forgot how to shoot at the same time, when he was one of the deadliest in the league. That just happens.
It is the Spurs fault not developing another guard. Clearly that is White and not Forbes or Paul.
I think its difficult to say its not a destination. We never really have cap space to sign the big time free agents because PATFO hand out loyalty contracts and overpay for TOSB's. We got LMA the one time we did.
When Kawhi is traded on Thursday night, will Young go too? He can go be Windhorst 2.0 for another team.
It's never been a hot destination for star players in their primes. I remember in '03 when the Spurs had cap money they struck out on Kidd, and Jermaine O'Neal.
The Spurs expected back a first round pick for Dejuan Blair, they are going to want the moon, sun, and the stars for Kawhi...going to be a long summer. Still think he is going to the Clippers or the Eastern Conference.
not saying its LA, but just because the one time back in 03 they didnt get anyone doesnt provide a lot of data.
It's kind of surreal how it really wasn't that long ago that he seemed like the perfect no drama loyal franchise star.
Just goes to show that if you're an autist you really need to get yourself the right wrangler.
And we got Rasho Nesterovic the time before that with max capsapce coming off a le with Prime Duncan, Parker, and rookie Ginobili. No top 5 player is ever coming as a free agent and anyone else the Spurs would have to grossly overpay for. This team is not going to build itself through free agency, the draft is the only option once Leonard's ass is gone.
Good post son.![]()
Small markets like SA will never be a destination for FA's. Look at even Cleveland with Lebron. They could never get a top notch FA to play with Lebron during his first stint. They lucked out during his second stint with having already drafted Kyrie, and then trading for Love.
SA is on the same level as Cleveland,Indiana,OKC,Salt Lake when it comes to star FA's.
He probably should since the Spurs organization will probably never give him any time of day after all his "reporting".
The dirty little secret is that top ten NBA player FAs only change teams about 4-5 times per decade (if that). So with 30 teams X ten years, that's about 4-5 hits in 300 tries per decade.
He'll be lucky to score a bag of Cheetos at the Spurs media buffet.
Yep. It'll be an uphill battle for all small market teams (as it has been all along--but seems to be getting worse), not just the Spurs. Basically, small market teams will have to tightly manage their finances, draft extremely well, and then hope to attract role player FA--all the while appeasing the fanbase. That's a tall task.
Mmmmm...Cheetos...
I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the city of San Antonio. I seriously think it boils down to the fact that Pop won't deal with their bull and will "yell at me."
That is an extremely creative and impressive insult. Well done.![]()
Hope this gets settled before draft, whether he re-signs or not. Would hate for this to drag out throughout the season.
But seriously, is this dude re ed?
