ESPN having an absolute meltdown right now that Kawhi hasn’t been traded to the Lakers yet.
No big trades--bummer. I'm starting to believe chicken and Pop kissed and made up--I could see the Spurs announcing they signed chicken to a superdupermax contract.
ESPN having an absolute meltdown right now that Kawhi hasn’t been traded to the Lakers yet.
How so?
I'm fine with the Spurs pettiness since they are not going to get anything close to equal value for him. Let this idiot suffer for another year along with his uncle.
Wow. West offered about 75 cents on the dollar there. I expected him to be hungry, and the Spurs aren't ever going to get a better offer than that going forward. The fact they turned it down suggests a few possibilities: The silver lining is that Kawhi and the Spurs repaired their rift and possibly got him and Uncle Dennis to verbally commit to the supermax. The very shiny silver lining includes all of that in addition to the Spurs assuring Kawhi they have a plan to bring a top FA to the team (hint: Lebron). The flip side is that the Spurs aren't going to cave in order to frustrate Kawhi and Dennis for another year to make a point that their organization won't be manipulated by the kind of bush league Kawhi and Co. pulled. The Spurs see something in Ingram and Ball/Kuzma and are waiting for the Lakers to offer the proverbial farm (least likely, since they shut down the Lakers earlier, but the Spurs could simply be playing the hard sell).
All I got.
West was trying to buy low that.
Two late lottery picks and Harris is about 25 cents on the dollar. The are you smoking mid?
Lol what do you think we are going to get for him, if PATFO doesn't hold on him just to watch him squirm?
If that's the best offer I'll take nothing.
Wasn't that the Clippers?
Yeah, I'm overrating the two lottery picks. But that's likely the best offer the Spurs are ever gonna get, so them turning it down is interesting.
75 cents on the dollar would be like Klay Thompson and a first.
25 cents seems high.
an expiring Tobias Harris and two picks that were probably no better than Walker on the Spurs board. Who will be stuck in Austin anyway.
MAYBE if Tobias was locked into a 4/40 deal and was a great long term value contract.
West is with the Clippers.
That offer is . Actually was it even both picks? Everything I heard before the draft was one of the picks and Harris.
, I'd let him walk and take the chance that they'll get a 5th round compensatory pick in the 2020 NFL draft
You can trade those now
But Mid was talking about the Lakers trade scenario.
Oh, and Harris ranked 15th among SFs in RPM this season and is only 25. Him + the two lottery picks (Spurs develop better than anyone else in the league) was a strong offer considering the cir stances of the situation.
Problem with Harris is that he's expiring..he isn't nearly as appealing when you factor the contract he's going to command for a team to keep him beyond next season..
In this thread I read it was both picks. I don't know the depth of this draft. Anyone at that level a sleeper? Remember, Spurs develop better than everyone.
I'm not sure. I took it as the Clippers when he opened up the post talking about what West (presumably Jerry, Clippers' FO member) offered the Spurs - and then followed with Harris and picks in Clippers' range.
No it wasn't. That's giving Kawhi away. I don't ever expect to get 75 cents on the dollar for Leonard. An absolute best case would be maybe getting 60 cents on the dollar with Tatum. But I'm not giving him away for picks 12 & 13 unless RC is in love with a prospect available there. Apparently he wasn't.
Kyle Anderson ranked 6th at age 24
Seems less impressive now
