Not mad about it. If he somehow finds his shot again, he’s one of the best contracts in the league. If he doesn’t, he’s easy trade bait. Bada bing bada boom.
Great. Another season of clanked 3’s.

On an expiring, he's an easy trade and it's not like we are hitting any home runs in the free agent market. About the best we can hope for is Kawhi at less than the super max, but that's a pipe dream.
Frankly, I don't much care what Jabari Young says tbh.
Danny's alrite. Best complement I can give.
Kind of expected after seeing the market..
Doesn't really hurt the Spurs much..
1. continues to struggle, contract expires and they let him walk
2. he'll just come off the bench
3. they'll trade his expiring deal
4. plays better in a contract year for his final significant NBA deal
The only downside would be if the Spurs don't find a viable 2-guard alternative and are forced to live with Danny's struggles(if he doesn't get it together again) ..Green's struggles were emphasized at the end of last season because the Spurs only alternatives were Mills at the 2 or Anderson at the 3..
If they're going to keep him, I fully expect him to come off the bench..

I'm surprised. I thought he'd opt for the security of something like a 3 year MLE contract. Then again, maybe a lot of the playoff teams who could use him only have access to the mini MLE.
I'd be even more surprised if he isn't traded, though. If/when, he might even get packaged with Leonard. They should still be able to acquire something decent for him.
Long will get his jersey retired one day![]()
18th is probably coming that way. Huerter, Musa, Smith.
In a rebuilding season hopefully he'll be able to put up numbers good enough to land a solid contract elsewhere in 2019-20.
A bunch of gots in here too scared to call this scrub out. I'll do it. He's ing trash. His shot is never coming back, get over it you brainless idiots. It's been 5 years since he had a shot. Klay thompson out of everyone impregnated his girl and you dudes think he's still a positive on that side? Laughable.
Grow some balls. Everyone s on him in the game threads but once out of them y'all go back to licking his boa
Truth nukes tbh
Dude getting benched by Patty Mills and it not lighting a fire under his ass should tell all of you how much this bone legged scrub cares.
Its almost nearly impossible to shoot 25% from three, have a 2.7 PER, a -0.092 WS/48, and a -6.6 OBPM.... but little Danny did it this postseason.
hopefully det LASIK surgery from 3 years ago will finally improve his broken shot tho.

Useful expiring contract. Hopefully he regains his eyesight.
Andre Roberson can’t shoot and he’s making about the same. Better athlete and defender when healthy, yes, but DG still holds value as a defender. 10 million for one year isn’t a bad contract at this point, probably a bit over market value but I’d assume he’d get 5-8 on the open market regardless
I'd love to see a few more of his patented chase down shot blocks before we say goodbye to him.
He seems to be a true team first type. I'm cool with him coming back, especially now that we have Walker.
Need more playing time for our future back court Derrick white and Lonnie walker.
Not surprising considering his shooting has slipped and the cap situation for most teams is dried up to the point that he would get less on the open market.
Hard to argue with anything you said. Not a fan & the faster the team ships his ass out, the better. All talk nowadays with no offensive game & a worsening defensive game. Him opting-in says it all.
These guys need to be gone -> Danny Green, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Jeffrey Lauvergne & Patty Mills. I like Patty but if he isn't scoring, he's hurting the team.

Totally Agree
