Spurs were apparently supposed to sugarcoat and cover for a guy who was giving them the big middle finger to keep him happy.
People acting like Kawhi did no wrong here are oblivious to reality. Dude basically robbed the org of $17M and tanked our season, and now he has tanked his trade value while demanding out.
But but but the Spurs made some snarky comments about him so this is the Spurs fault.
LMA was crucified around here for far less and he handled his business like a man.
Wtf? Why? Fultz is another damn combo guard. That would be nothing but redundancy. No thanks. God people wanting these ty deals and for what purpose? To stay mediecore?
I've said this before. It's a status thing. Doesn't matter what happens, a team doesn't question its franchise player in public.
They could make his life harder in private without the need to say a word in public.
Again, questioning a franchise player in front media never led to good things nor helped to maintain a healthy relationship.

"People" said BOTH sides handled this badly.
"People" never said Kawhi did well at the same time that "people" can admit the Spurs aren't perfect and make mistakes as well.

Like the Spurs don't need a guard who can score...They don't have any one now.
DJ needs to keep improving his shot, most times Patty and Danny can't hit an ocean, Manu and Parker are done...Walker & White are great prospects who wouldn't play more tan 15' this season.

Nah, the Lakers found a taker for their other #2 pick in the entire draft, Deangelo Russell.

The comments certainly didn't help the matter. Both sides made mistakes.
But if you want to dole out blame here, the majority falls on Kawhi and "his group".
With the way Kawhi handled this, he didn't really deserve for the Spurs to have his back...I don't care if he is the "franchise player". He just turned his back on his franchise, and that wasn't over two innocuous comments made by Parker and Pop.

Our team doesn't have any decent guard outside DJ, Fultz could fix a Spurs' need.
If you ask me I would trade Kawhi just for a LeBron's level talent but it wont happen in this world so the Spurs have to maximize what they can get for Kawhi.
Anyways, what's your dream-trade scenario?
