I don't see any way that this spinoff will be successful. The people who didn't watch before are still not going to watch, and the people who were watching are going to boycott the show because they feel like Roseanne got unfairly axed.
Not for a new show. That's the whole rub at this point. Darlene would already be a show if ABC didn't have to give Barr creator credit and the money associated with it. I believe the plan is for her to keep all her rights up to this point but relinquish them for any new Conner character projects.
