Just coming off the 03 ship and fixing to chase after Jason Kidd hardcore. Even gave up our first round pick for cash I believe? Could have drafted who? Josh Howard?? Man, the memories. And to the think, a little kid named kawhi leonard was only gonna turn 12.
This is a cool post. I remember watching that close out game when Tim damn near had a quadruple double and the announcers were going on about what a good core we had and how it looks like we could be around for a while. Finally getting one over on the Lakers after their 3 peat. I guess that was before the Parker Kidd drama but the 03 chip was sweet.
That was a great time to be a Spurs fan.
We could have also had Barbosa. I was one of the few people at the time who didn't want Kidd.

and then been paper trash - but would it have been worth it?
Who knows? Kidd was still a contributor on the '11 Mavs. Still a far cry from '13 Parker, though.
And now Spurs fans are desperate to trade for Rasho Ingram
No they would have still lost to the Lakers. The Lakers beat the Spurs in '04 by clogging the lane and forcing guys to hit open jump shots. Kidd would not have helped the Spurs in that situation.
Couldn't have been worse than Turkoglu
Everybody from what I remember was awful when it came to hitting open jump shots in that series. It was a nightmare to watch. Spurs probably win that series if they had acquired Brent Barry a year earlier.
