I said some comparison between Jeff Pendergraph and Tyson Chandler based on highlights in terms of athleticism.![]()
I bumped this in the Think Tank before asking myself "Who goes to the Think Tank in the off-season?" I was looking through the Trade Thread there at posts from like 2013, and I came across this beaut (especially the bold):
My ing god, if I could turn back the hands of time. I don't think a read has ever been so wrong.
What was your worst take? Most people probably don't have anything near this bad, but I'm sure there are some doozies out there. Hopefully people will feel brazen enough to share.

Most likely I did, but I can't remember making an egregious take; although I would definitely say that I completely overestimated Leonard-- the total player package-- and his meaning for this franchise going forward..
I admit that I believed he would be a cornerstone in the Robinson/Duncan mold. He quite miserably failed at the first hurdle. Not only that, but he is taking it upon himself to sink this entire ship..
Years ago I wanted spurs to move from Pop when his time was up (which it seemed it was coming before Timmy got a second wind), with Byron Scott.
I thought Leonard would be the next Duncan.
I once said that we should trade Kawhi for Avery Bradley or Trevor Ariza.
When I said Kawhi was cut from the same cloth as Timmy.
When I said Drunkford's offseason last year would set this franchise back the next 3-4 years (the length of Fatty and Gaysol's contracts) when in reality it ended this franchise forever.
Kawhi is the franchise. Your future is now Fathead & Murray who can't shoot and never will... and Lonnie Walker, who was inefficient in college and everyone is buying in on him because of either "potential" or they're straight PATFO guzzlers who still hype Bertans and Hanga to this day.
Hit me right in my ing feelings.
When I gave the Spurs no realistic chance to return to the finals and win it in 14.
When I thought it made zero sense for the Spurs to pay Patty, and thought they never would.
When I thought they should have signed Plumlee in summer of 16' ( Wanted him & Harkless that summer for Pau money combined).
I wanted McCaw rather than Murray and so far that’s been very bad.
On the plus side I started a thread on 5/23/17 before the 2017 draft led a trade everyone will hate where I took immense
“Trade Leonard to Boston for both Brooklyn picks plus their own first this year and Jaylen Brown. Pick Fultz. Tank next year and have two very high lottery picks. With cap space in 2020 go after a big time FA. Move forward.” Wish Spurs has done some variation of that Boston deal.
Remember when a certain poster thought he was Shawn Marion 2.0 tho? Not sure who..
I haven't been around in this forum long enough...
but I do remember Apalisocs trade Kiwi for Beal and Ariza...
I remember Manu4tres was adamant Spurs would let Paddy go this past summer... It wasn't egregious, but he was so adamant and convinced.
I also remember dabom welching on a bet this season that Kiwi would be back and play after the ASB, then prior to the playoffs, then in the playoffs. That was epic. Dabom also proclaimed Kiwi's triumphant return in the playoffs two season's ago to face GSW. Little did he know that was the beginning of the end.
I thought last summer Lamarcus was gone for sure tho... he was sending all the signals that he wanted to be traded... I underestimated Pop in that he could be persuaded.
Some would say, my takes on Kyle. He's an NBA player tho and the troll consensus was that he wasn't... Perhaps how adamant I was at the time was hilarious tho.
true...

Probably TP for Michael Beasley trade suggestion back when I was a dumb young blood.
wow, I guess no one gets over this.
Mine is when I defended the lakers when we turned down the trade offer of a pick and Robert Sacre for Hassan whiteside. Yes that was on the table for us before he went to Miami.
I did done ed up on that one as well as the lakers
Mills being a starting caliber point guard
I was with you on that one.![]()
I thought Fitzpatrick was our franchise QB after the hot start in 2011.
Okay with the Spurs trading Tony Parker for Chris Kaman (when he was with the Clippers). Yuck.
I used to debate my buddy in college leading up the draft in 2003. He was telling me LBJ was going to be a monster in the NBA. I told him hes 18 and never played against NBA athletes and the Cavs should pick Darko over him.
Dude has never let me live that one down. Oops.
