Don't see that Lakers team beating the Warriors, so I'm not really seeing how this "saves the NBA." The only thing that would change is that Laker fans would now have two superteams to cheer for instead of just one.
The only thing that can save the NBA is Durbeta growing a pair and leaving the Warriors for a team that actually needs him to win.

We would really save it if Kawhi stopped being a and Lebron would come join us. Adding Lebron to the current Spurs roster it would be a lot better than just throwing together, on the run, Lebron-Kawhi-PG + a bunch of minimum players.
Also, you know that the Spurs don't repeat, they spread the wealth around. The Lakers would just form another dynasty that, with time, would become even more hateable than the Warriors. Not because of the players, but because of the fans. Do you remember what it was to have winning Lakers fans?

I was at one of the home games this year that Lakers beat the Spurs. The way the Lakers fans were acting you would have thought they just took game 7 of the WCF. Keep in mind this was towards the end of the season, pretty sure those gots were already mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Now lets imagine they actually have a good team, fuuck that.

Spurs are done. Stick a fork in them. Lakers are gonna ring again multiple times before spurs ever ring again. Tbh spurs probably relocate to another city before their next ring.
