Oh and I think that if I were the Spurs, and the offers weren't getting any better than we heard today, that I would just call Kawhi's bluff and say, "OK, well you are under contract, see you in training camp."
    +1

Add in some picks and get it done, not the biggest Covington fan but he makes the salaries work.
Why would you dump Mills for a worse contract in Covington?

76ers package for Kawhi is beyond overrated. While that Miami pick is unprotected it's a 2021 pick, too many unknowns with that. And Saric is a very flawed player in today's league as Boston showed.
Stop reading and start watching. I thought the LA package looked better until I started looking at the tape of all the players in question. Saric is a Spurs type of player. He shoots the three, bangs down low, and will dive like Manu for lose balls. Covington can replace much of the defense lost by Kawhi. If you can pull Orlando into the trade and grab a double double machine like Vucecic and to top it off you get a probable lottery pick down the road. (Miami's large contracts on marginal players for several years). Even if it falls out of the lottery it is by far the superior deal to stay relevant and build on the fly.

You know, you're right. Ingram is a superstar. The Lakers should keep him and not trade for Kawhi.
Why would they trade two superstars for one?

Kawhi to PHI just got stronger. PHI said they are star hunting. They know after losing to BOS 4-1 without Kyrie/Hayward they need more. I think there is a match. It’s all about does Kawhi torpedo things by being difficult and making PHI feel like they have 0 shot at keeping him. Kawhi in PHI would be dope too

I hope it's Philly or Boston. More Boston because F Philly and Jabari Young getting to be the official Windhorst to Kawhi back home.

Covington's contract this past year was 16m. It is 10-12m per year going forward for the next 4 years.

Being smart and polite in public isn't that hard. If only the "old leaders" on the team know that...

Can't wait for Parker's new contract with the Spurs.

Trading Kawhi to Philly would've been a great idea..... had they not shat all over themselves and traded Mikal Bridges. That package is laughable.

C'mon. It's about dollars. If he's hurt by Parker's comments than that says more about Kawhi than what it says about Parker.

The old leaders never had to deal with their franchise player not wanting to play or participate in team activities with them. He was gone way before the Parker comment in his mind man.

I'd take Ingram and Kuzma over Saric and Covington any day. But the Sixers have assets to sweeten their offer. The Lakers don't.

He's sweating at the prospect of being traded away from that biggest stage. My point is trading kawhi for the lakers prospects won't help the spurs longterm because those players will bolt as they enter their primes. Laker prospects also notoriously underperform after they leave LA. I'd rather the spurs make kawhi suffer for another year, and screw the lakers super team plans in the process. The only assets I would want for him are lottery picks.

Why do you think if they trade kawhi for Fultz/Tatum/drafted guys...those players will want to stay in SA? I doubt it.

If we consider Pop will retire soon, unless the Spurs get LeBron and build a superteam, I doubt any future All Star/All NBA team would want to stay in SA.

Doesn' matter what, being polite in front media is the smarter decision.

Can't believe some people think those comments were right. It's hilarious to believe those comments helped to fix the situation.

    You silly.
Its all good I just believe in Ingram and am bored.
If we dont trade for KL we keep him and I get to see up close if I was right about BI.
IF we trade him I still will follow him from afar because I think he is legit. I really like Kuzma but am Less sure of him and even less sure of Lonzo ... but Zo figures out FT shooting and at least his 36 % of 3's he is gonne be damn good too.

Like any other superstar in the league would love that a teammate questioned his injury in public.

If some people can't realize those comments weren't the best thing that could happen to Spurs-Kawhi relationship... I can't help.
