Doesn' matter what, being polite in front media is the smarter decision.

Can't believe some people think those comments were right. It's hilarious to believe those comments helped to fix the situation.
They were quiet damn near all year while dealing with it. Manu even said if he's feeling pain, he should sit out and supported him.

At a certain point, they got tired of dealing with all the media crap while Kawhi and his group got no questions about it and remained 'hidden'.

It's hilarious you think Kawhi and his camp are victims here and should take no responsibility for any of this.

Stop reading and start watching. I thought the LA package looked better until I started looking at the tape of all the players in question. Saric is a Spurs type of player. He shoots the three, bangs down low, and will dive like Manu for lose balls. Covington can replace much of the defense lost by Kawhi. If you can pull Orlando into the trade and grab a double double machine like Vucecic and to top it off you get a probable lottery pick down the road. (Miami's large contracts on marginal players for several years). Even if it falls out of the lottery it is by far the superior deal to stay relevant and build on the fly.
How ironic, "stop reading & start watching", I'm assuming you didn't see how booty Saric & Covington were against Boston. Saric can be a decent player but he's still nowhere near enough for Kawhi, they'd have to include Fultz in any deal for Kiwi. And I'm not even sold on Fultz.

Why do you think if they trade kawhi for Fultz/Tatum/drafted guys...those players will want to stay in SA? I doubt it.

If we consider Pop will retire soon, unless the Spurs get LeBron and build a superteam, I doubt any future All Star/All NBA team would want to stay in SA.
Why do you think they would be so eager to leave SA with the first chance they get? I already know that's the case with young veteran free agents and not so much with old-timers. But if even rookies and sop res aren't interested in going to/staying in SA, they might as well move this elderly team to Seattle.

Yeah, people definitely getting paranoid about everybody wanting to leave SA just because Uncle Dennis wants out is dumb.

if those comments got him to realize his stupidity then you would be quite fine with them
No. And you know those comments weren't fine.

According to Stephen A Smith, Kawhi isn't set on just the Lakers. He's set on Los Angeles, meaning he is cool with playing for the Clippers. So even if LeBron and PG sign with the Lakers and don't have any room left for Kawhi, he is cool playing for the Clippers.

To me that means he is okay with losing and doesn't care as much as we thought about winning.
    But PATFOs roster construction.

Covington's contract this past year was 16m. It is 10-12m per year going forward for the next 4 years.
Patty's, which I consider to be the worst Spurs deal going forward, only has 3 years. That extra 8 figure money needs a sweetener from PHI.

Like any other superstar in the league would love that a teammate questioned his injury in public.

If some people can't realize those comments weren't the best thing that could happen to Spurs-Kawhi relationship... I can't help.
The comment about his injury being worse was true. We're they necessary, nah? If that comment hurt his feelings and is main reason for him leaving then again, it's saysore about him than it does Parker.

Kobe, LeBron, or MJ wouldn't have cried to the media about a teammate's comment about his injury. They would have played on. They would've used that comment as motivation. They would've confronted that teammate.

Sometime you need to hear the truth even if you may not like it

Spurs talked to him privately before Manu,tp,David went public

He just wants to grow his brand, it's so clear at this point. Winning is just a bonus, not sure how successful he'll be with the personality of a lobster.

I'm not saying they're victims, I say it's stupid to think those comments were right or helped to fix something.

If other teammate could be nice and polite I just wonder why they needed to call him out. You say they were fine doing it...I say it wasn't smart.

Yeah, Uncle Dennis has delusions of a LeBron type agency. Two problems with that: LeBron is going to suck all of the air out of that room, and when they see what a hash The Group has made of their first negotiation, players won't touch Agencie Groupe with a ten foot pole.

Not really. Those were two comp different injuries and Parker knew that.

You sounds very weird saying that LeBron Kobe or MJ would love that a player talks about an injury...For less than that, they would ask Phil to trade that teammate.

if the spurs FO winds up not trading leonard they can tell leonard and his uncle that teams just really didn't want to give up all that much because there were too many questions. now dennis could turn around and blame that on the spurs and say it's because of the doubt they put out there publicly about leonard's injury or they can be honest and accept some of the blame because of their reluctance to be so forthcoming. regardless, the spurs could tell leonard that his market value is not what his uncle thinks it is and the only way to repair that situation would be to play a full year and show that he is the leonard of old that teams would covet. if he leaves after that one year the spurs lose out on any return, of course, other than the freed up cap space.

Because the Spurs have issues luring big-name FA and now they have issues keeping their own guys. LMA asked for a trade and Pop had to change the whole offense to convince him to stay...Kawhi is leaving..

I doubt things get better after Pop's retirement.

Impatience is just what the asshats like Magic and Ainge want out of the Spurs so the front office will make a stupid deal that guts the Spurs. Simmer down.

How can you fix something that was not meant to be fixed? Maybe they got word of him wanting out by that time. Who knows? It was reported earlier in the season he wanted out.
