I'm asking if I should feel bad about thinking Kawhi is a kunt after he has been such a significant part of the Spurs' lure and probably a player who will have his number retired I would think. Who else feels a bit conflicted?

Nah. Its both ways. At this point Kawhi deserves better treatment despite being a to the team and fans. People can be done with him but you try to salvage family relationships after the craziness . But for sure he needs to show Spurs org and fans some respect.

For better or for worse... he brought us a ring. And if it wasnt for Manus play in '13, he probably brings us two. Im happy to take that, and whatever young, allstar upside assets his trade demand brings us.

To an extent but samething for the people ragging on the Spurs front office. Ultimately, Kawhi should've spoken up more clearly about his commitment and shown a bit more loyalty to the franchise that can attribute to his stellar reputation so far. Unfortunately both sides probably handled it wrong but until Kawhi actually becomes more vocal, I lean towards saying he needs to do more growing up.

2015 he definitely wasn't tough enough mentally, but 2016, I initially was down on his mental game yet again after the series, but Pop kept benching him at crucial moments and then OKC would go on runs or get leads when he was on the bench. Pop kept following his re ed rest routine even in the playoffs. I mean, if those are reasons Kawhi wanted to leave as well as the roster construction, I can't fault him as I had those same issues, but the way he's gone about it is one of the worst ways that I've ever seen.
The one moment I didn't like and still don't like in that 2016 series from him, I can't remember if it was game 2 or 5, but he didn't demand or seem to want the ball on the last possession to win the game. Another showing, I thought at the time was that he's starting to look mentally weak and not tough enough to get to that true Superstar level. 2017 though, I thought he really put it together and I thought that he had finally started to come around with his mental game. I was really looking forward to, and excited to see him build on that in 2018, but it just all went bad.
so not worth it. especially since best case would be that he shows up and half asses it.
while lebron is a special drama queen nomad at least he actually plays even if he wants out
SAS putting out that Kawhi would sit out a second season. Kawhi ain't gonna correct the record. To me, that shows that he was being a by not coming back.
