People might have forgotten this already:
Lamarcus, Gay, Gasol, Bellineli, Murray, Walker, White, Anderson, Bertans
Not bad huh.........................
Good Manu retirement insurance. He does seem redundant to White, but I guess you can't have enough shooters in today's small ball NBA.
Very definitely a big part of this signing, following the tumultuous last 12 months.
3rd seed. You need to stop posting
I don’t mind this deal at all.
Better than the fatty mills deal...
I guess Forbes is gone, then it's either Manu retiring or Patty getting traded with Kawhi
It would make the signing make more sense if Ginobili was retiring or that they are trading Green and letting Parker go.
GRANDE BELI!!!!
Not a bad contract, unexpected. Needed to improve perimeter shooting.
Interesting considering Forbes had a better 3PT% last year than Beli..
I'm okay with this. The contract is reasonable. Just wondering if this had any indication about Manu's decision or PATFO's future moves.
Cant reason with spurstalk
Yes. First off, the Spurs desperately need more shooting. Second, the type of player you're clamoring for is probably going to cost more than the deal Belinelli got.
I like this signing. Spurs needed a shooter and he fits the bill. If Ginobili comes back they are overloaded at SG with Green, Lonnie Walker, and Marco. But if Leonard is gone there are minutes for everyone. And maybe they know Manu's gone.
The right trade with Leonard could make this team still compe ive. I don't think they want to rebuild. Hopefully Walker winds up being equal to a lottery pick. The real question is whether they believe Dejounte Murray is the PG of the future.
I also wonder if signing Belinelli is an indication that the Spurs have something up their sleeve. If they are in "win now" mode they might have other plans.
Marco is a proven shooter. Forbes is lucky to even be in the league.
Again, I don’t know if people just don’t do any basic research or get so blinded by bias, but Forbes shot better from 3 than Beli last year.
Who are you going to get for that price that can space the floor and defend? The Spurs need reliable scoring of the bench. Being able to defend would be great too, but that defender cannot be a liability offensively.
