My prediction:
1. LeBron will go to LA.
2. The Spurs will get nothing for Kawhi and keep him.
3. Philly will make no significant deals.

kiwi's mouthpiece trying to force laker hand and yet some spur fan still thinks it's true

Ainge can't. The repeater will also kill Boston: He's got Brown and Tatum on the cheap now... But he's also got Rozier - who's going to want money to stay. And Kyrie. And Hayward. And Horford... Philly has to pay less parts (Embiid, Simmons, and Lebron in this scenario) than Boston does.
bring Erikssen and considerations and we have a trade
Boston has some significant problems coming up with too many players and large contracted for his older guys. Golden handcuffs problem, but still there. Kyrie is probably give, leaving them with no secure scorer. They seem content to believe the young guys will become stars, but they may not be instant. You simply cannot play and pay this many dudes.
scrubs like rozier aren't part of the thinking here.and probably not mediocre white-american players like hayward tbh. not to mention they will be coming off their deals and horford too before tatum and brown max even kicks in, tbh.
ainge isn't going to be intimidated in trading a future superstar with 3 more rook years because 34 year old lebron might team up with cripples in kiwi and embiid![]()
The '21 Heat pick isn't as valuable as it's being portrayed (I know it's likely to be the first year where high-schoolers are draft eligible since '05). The Heat's long term outlook doesn't look good, but they've always been philosophically opposed to re-building and 3 years is too far off to have a much of a sense of where it's likely to land.
There's a good chance Fultz has more upside than the player that pick ultimately becomes will. I know the 76ers probably feel they can't give up all 3 of Covington, Saric, Fultz, so I'd throw in Green (and try to squeeze them for something minor, like Luwawu-Cabarrot or a 2nd). Not only probably the closest thing to a Leonard confidante in the league, but he makes sense for them going forward.
Unless they're confident in Fultz developing into the 3rd star they need, they should take the risk.
Makes sense for Spurs, too. Not just to not appease Leonard and screw the Lakers, but either Fultz becomes the needed star or he's a bust, in which case they'll suck and pick high enough to have decent odds of finding another one(s).
That Miami pick looks excellent. First chance the Spurs have at high lottery in over two decades.
Calling it. Don’t know how salaries work. Kawhi and Patty for Simmons, Smith, Covington(3rd team possibly taking him on) and Miami’s 2021 first rounder and rights to Bolden. Kawhi reups. Philly gets Bron.
lebron will never let phila trade Rich Paul client simmons as condition for going there, tbh. he was willing to exert influence to retain scrubs like Jr smith and tristan thompson, what do you think he'd do for Paul's 2nd best client?![]()
Hope you're not a betting man. There'll be a lot of treats on this board. Simmons isn't going anywhere.
That's way too favorable to the Spurs to actually happen.
Not if you're quoted![]()
The best movie IMO for Lebron easily is Philly. Cavs have no room to do anything. George is staying in OKC, and Lakers are going to have to gut that team to get Leonard.
you can't have everything...if i'm LBJ i want the money and i want to win and i want to play the game the way I prefer, alias controlling the ball for a long part of the game...you can have all this in a big market like phila and with kawhi, sending Simmons to sa...so if i'm lbj I talk to Paul to let it happen. no way he's gonna contend in la next year without a real big name with him, and considering the way our f.o. is behaving, no way they are considering sending Kawhi to LAK this year.
"gutting" a team that won 35 games in a season with 7 tanking teams![]()
denver with james could be as good as philly
philly get leonard depends on what they give up might be better
Wonder if Lebron wants to play for the Lakers and their kiddie core and take all the heat from the press and a lot of the Lakers’s fans when they’re a first round fail.
Wouldn’t be so sure. Miami has a lot of cap space in 2020 and that city is a desirable destination. Could be lottery, but could be high teens-early 20’s too.
Like I said, way too much uncertainty 3 years out and realistically they'd be hoping to get a player with the upside of Fultz.
I'm not interested in waiting that long for the hope of that when it can be had now.
You could argue swapping Saric out for the pick, but he offers the best combination of ceiling/floor in the package and is probably the player Spurs would covet most from them (in terms of realistic options) as a long term building block.
Thanks for bringing a little realism to evaluating that Miami pick. It ain't nothing I would bank on.
I don't understand the rationale for Sixers not wanting to trade Fultz and the Lakers not wanting to trade IngramYou're not only getting a top 5 player and 2x DPOY in return, you're also getting the increased possibility of getting LeBron.
The Cavs traded Wiggins for Love with no hesitation and Wiggins at the time was freshly drafted and didn't tank his value yet like Fultz did this year or Ingram last year. Not to mention Leonard is twice the player Love is. These teams better trade these players before they're revealed to be frauds like Wiggins.
How on earth does Denver fit James with his current mess of a cap situation? Understand Jokic counts at a lower cap number until officially signed, but still would be over the cap. At most they’d have <$10mm of room by renouncing Devin Harris.
