LeBron move is reasonable considering the Warriors exist. They won't be the prohibitive favorites even with Kawhi. This move isn't really comparable to Durant.Today's NBA players
Durant ed out with the most cliched decision possible, so it's no surprise LeBron did. Some might argue Lebron is taking a harder road, but I feel this decision is entirely predicated on the Lakers promising to build a "superteam" around him. Expect Kawhi there next season along with some B-tier ring chasers. And once again, the NBA balance has dramatically shifted. The East is pretty much gutted now. Boston doesn't have the raw talent and Philly is missing their big 3 piece.

So why the Lakers? You don't need to live in LA anymore for "Hollywood connects." Lakers make little sense as a basketball decision. Either Magic promised Lebron a superteam on his life or Lebron is just a "basic " like 95% of NBA players who want LA/NY for the celebrity atmosphere, nightlife, what have you.
It makes sense for Leonard to be traded to the Sixers. Embiid-Leonard-Simmons can give the Celtics six games’ worth of headaches before they eventually make the finals.
If you think the Lakers are going to compete for a le signing scrubs like KCP to 1 year deals, you're more stupid than I first thought. As it stands right now, assuming they bring back Randle, the Lakers will have around $22 million in cap space next summer. KL is a max player. The max salary next season is $35 million. The Spurs don't have any obligation to trade him anywhere. If he walks, let him go. We would be better off using the extra cap space to sign FA's next season than settle for the crap that the Lakers want to give us.

Spurs are under no rush and can wait to see how the season plays out. Lot of things can and will happen like every year. Hayward and Kyrie injuries, Kawhi story, IT fiasco ans Cavs hangover at the trade deadline. Teams will panic.
And Lakers first of all, as they're not winning as it is. Lebron signing makes it look worse, they badly need help now.
