don't know why ST fans were hoping for such massive cap space this season? for who? what player could the spurs have signed that would have put the team into the finals? i never expected any major additions this summer through free agency.
i never saw white shoot off screens or move without the ball the way belli does and i doubt that would be the role for walker.

I don’t speak for everyone but there is a ton of opportunity for teams with cap space to get a lot of draft picks by taking on bad deals (Faried, Deng, etc..). If you are willing to sacrifice a year or so when you will be bad anyways, you can really cash in with cap space.
at this point, i don't want the lakers picks nor do i want even the nuggets future picks because these are not going to be lottery picks. the lakers picks would be in the low to mid 20s at this point. the spurs are better off just getting the space next summer through expiring contracts. of course, the spurs can't screw it up by offering parker anything more than the minimum and certainly not giving him and multi-year deal. i'm also keeping my fingers crossed that the spurs don't do anything stupid in regards to bertans, forbes and KA.
So what do you think LA would attach to deng to get him off the books for next summer?
They can stretch him and he will count 6M a year over 3 years or if they want him completely off the books a future first round pick or a player (Kuzma).
Sad thing is we have an okay team without Leonard and we are still better than half the league. NBA needs to do more to split up these super teams. Fans are going to lose interest in regular season games.
Free agent guard JJ Re will return to the Philadelphia 76ers on a 1-year deal in the $12M-to-13M range, league sources tell ESPN
Yeah. A Big market got a superstar. All is right with the world! Yeah!
I hate them.
In that case, I see a three courses of actions I would explore. One way is to completely tear it down and actually take Deng off of their hands if they add more compensation to the deal. The second way is to trade Gasol to open up cap space and sign Randle to a $15-$18M per year deal for 3 or 4 years and force them to give him up for nothing or tie up more cap space for next summer. Lastly, I would look at simply improving the team by going after a guy like Bradly Beal to pair with Kawhi, using Aldridge as the center piece of an offer with Washington, and offer Kawhi max money and dare him to walk away.
I know it can be nit-picked but, my point isn't about getting Beal necessarily, I just think we have more options than simply dumping him for a low offer and that there some strategic ways to approach this that give us a chance to get better or to cause some difficult decisions for the Lakers. I still think we have cards that we can play if we choose to..
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ramona was passing notes to Uncle Dennis in class.
with Cavs going rebuild what about: Pau, Green and White for TT and Hill? Spurs get TT, a big they need along LMA bringing defense and rebounding, and a better backup pg than Mills in Hill... Cavs saving money like they want and getting yung prospect in White!!!
Is there a reason why Parker hasn’t been signed yet?
mj 91' or wilt 67'

Cavs might be up for sale, but I would love to get Love and Hood for Mills, Pau and two first rounders+some youg fillers (White/Murray/Walker?)
Was just talking to a co-worker about the same thing. I'd imagine negotiations are taking place and he's not willing to accept the low offer he deserves at this point of his career.
He is looking for 6 to 7 mill per season for 2 years per this article.
My guess is that the Spurs are waiting to see what happens with their other RFA (the team has a lot of guards and very few forwards) first before acquiescing. Or he could legit leave if he finds a team that gives him what he seeks.
Parker needs to gtfo. He's old and washed. We need to develop some younger players.
looking for 6-7 mill a season for 2 yrs!
The Clippers spurned. smh
And the Wolves aren't going to go for Bertans anymore I guess.
Wishful thinking. I’m surprised the Spurs haven’t announced that culture and loyalty contract yet.
Utaz just re-signed Favors to a 2 year deal too. I think Bkn is left for Davis and the Spurs.
