It does seem like a career after basketball move with winning not being such a priority anymore. But Laker fans in LA will expect at least 1 ring. Kobe comparisons will pour in if he doesn't deliver.

He's not worried much about winning or comparisons. At least right now but they will come. They will need more than just LeBron and Kawhi to dethrone GS.
It's a strange move for somebody who has always cared about what others think, he'll be illogically compared to Kobe as soon as year 2 and his age/mileage will be ignored..he must really love LA if he's willing to put himself in that position..
Makes sense outside of basketball..there's literally nothing Cleveland could have done to win another le with their current cap situation, so might as well go elsewhere for personal reasons, he'll be treated like royalty in his first season..
If it was about basketball, Philly would have been the obvious choice..better team + playing in the East..lifestyle in Philly isn't appealing, though
if the lakers are to win a le, then one of the homegrown talent has to explode to supers om in the next 2 2-3. chances are slim right now but that’s the way i see it.
of course the odds increases if they land kiwi.
It'll be interesting to see whether the Lakers have been playing well against the Warriors because they match up well with them or whether it was just GS not taking the underdog seriously..
Outside of GS and Houston, the West is the worst it has been in 30 years, so at least LA should be a lock for the playoffs, finally
