So why even bother to sign Rondo and Lance this year? You can get other guys on 1yr deals that make more sense. Maybe if you talk yourself into saying these guys are high-risk, high-reward and they somehow luck into a 'ship this year because of injuries. But Rondo, Lance, Javele seem like minus players to me at this point.

Embiid isn't expected to lead guys who are his peers. Teams don't bring in potential MVP-level talent to go under the radar. Kawhi really needs a veteran alpha, and everybody knows it now after his AWOL year.
