We don't have a true small forward signed yet. I consider Rudy our 4 and Danny Green as our full-in 3. If we don't trade Kawhi and we isolate him, who will play our 3? Will this force the Spurs to match any Kyle Anderson offer or is there money and someone left in free agency we are targetting?

I was thinking maybe Gay 4 and Danny 3.. Obviously the Kawhi thing needs to have a clearer picture

You should consider Rudy Gay our 3 and Aldridge our 4. Gasol is the 5.

I consider Aldridge the 5. Gasol/Aldridge combo only seems to work with bigger lineups which are an endangered species in today's NBA.

    murray/Patty
    White/ Beli/ Walker
    Gay/ Green
    kyle/Bertans?
    LMA/Gasol

I would use Gay at the 3 at this point in time. He has the best combination of length and athleticism

You're forgetting about who ever we get for Kawhi, If we can get anything for him at this point. But yeah, the could still be on the spurs roster anyway, inactive and dreaming about playing in LA with bron lol.

True but it will be offset by Kyle Anderson at the 2

our forwards were disgusting last year with kawhi out.

it will be the same this year. we didnt make any upgrades there, outside of marco being our new stretch 4

Bertans has potential. Deceptively athletic and can shoot the three. Non-existent handles and defense though

Spurs should've at least signed undrafted player Yuta Watanabe to their summer league team. Elite defender who can score in many ways. Not many Spurs can play defense with Kawhi soon to be gone.

Ruby should be unleashed now. I'm expecting big things from Kyle this year. Already a great defender.

Could the Spurs experiment on Murray as a small forward??

So that White plays as our starting point guard?

Regardless, a 3 guard lineup in happening. We got lots of guards. Beli/manu can at times play the 3. So many Murray could. Not sure how he goes against biggy body guys though. It will be interesting if we play heaps faster. As long as it's not the parker and mills backcourt.

Looks like Spurs were smart to put KA as a restricted free agent. Money is drying up so Spurs probably sign him on the cheap. Going to be same as last year. Small forward position fill-in by committee. Green/Manu/Anderson/Gay/Bertans
Green is closest to the small forward position so I see him getting most his minutes there.

Nah, going to keep it going until we get someone serviceable at the SF spot. We know Anderson ain't cutting it. Spurs need defense and this a thread for SFs.

No we need offense and Anderson is definitely not cutting that.
